Did you ever find olives or pepperoni in weird places while you were working there?

Other than stuck to the bottom of my shoe, no. Although a co-worker of mine did. Sometimes I would take a piece of pepperoni, ham, or whatever, and drop it down the back of his shirt. I did that off and on for like 2 weeks, until finally one day he said something about always finding stuff in his shirt when he got home at night, and I couldn't help but crack up, and it blew my cover.

        That's how I got the idea!!! :D

It's really not that much effort. It's kind of fun making up why you are not satisfied with the food. Usually whoever is on the phone asks you a few questions and you get the coupon in the mail in a few days.
When I was around ten I wrote a heartfelt letter to the cracker jack company. I explained that I was only allowed to choose one snack a week from the grocery store since my grandmother was raising 7 of us and money was tight. This shits all true, but it seems funny now. Anyway, I plainly told them that I didn't even like cracker jacks but it was the only snack that came with a prize inside and I wanted the prize since gram didn't let us get the cereal with the prizes inside either. I went on to tell them that when I opened up the box there was no prize inside and the cracker jacks were stale but gram made me eat them anyway because you don't waste food and I want my prize since I had to eat the stale cracker jacks.

--2 months later a package came in the mail that was full of nothing but crackerjack prizes and a letter with video that explained how the process of packaging works. In the letter the woman apologised and told me she was going to send me free cracker jacks too but since I was forced to eat them she didn't think I would want them, free or not.

Gotta love free food. There's always some out there. You just have to find it.
Recipe for nostalgia: Mix 80's and 90's culture. Stir in some good memories. Add a dash of reflection. Mixture should now taste bittersweet. Shake well and enjoy!

Weddings, special events, work, whatever. If it has free food, I'm going. No questions asked.

My mother claims that I've got a little Jew in me, whatever that means.

What free food experiences would you like to talk about?

The best one that comes to mind was when I got to take home 7 large pizzas with different toppings because they way over-ordered. I ate pizza for two weeks straight.

There's a stereotype that Jewish people are very stingy.

Oh, and the best way to get free food, put your hands over all the samples on a tray at a supermarket.

Food is expensive. I can't believe I just spent $167.46 on 4 dinners, drinks, and a few snacks. This is absolutely nuts. I may take up dumpster diving myself. 8)

Do you guys have any pets? Ive heard many times that if you write to a pet food company, either asking for samples, or just saying how you like their product that they will send you boxes full of free pet food.

Also once for school, I had to write a letter to my favorite restaurant, and a while later I got a "free dinner" card from them.

I am a college student, so I always go to any barbecue or event that features free food. Just this fall, I got free pizza at a sports fair, free cheeseburgers at a barbecue, and free donuts and hot chocolate at the library when I was studying for finals.

At my alma mater (where I got my bachelor's degree from) there would always be speakers, fairs, plays, meetings, etc. where I could get free food. I didn't feel bad because the food staff was ordered to throw away the food after any event because of safety reasons, and who wants to waste good food??? Once I got to take home an entire pizza and another time I got to take home free Panera Bread sandwiches and a loaf of bread. At a morning event I once took home a plate full of danishes and donuts.

I'm also on the lookout for coupons for free food at fast food restaurants - like the free coffee Mondays at McDonalds or the free Sliders from White Castle.

My latest find (the other day, in fact), was three boxes of perfectly wrapped and arranged candy canes sitting in a basket near a dumpster. I took those babies into my apartment and made them mine!

Free food always tastes better, for some reason.
