Well looks like we got something good for this week on March 23, 2009.

      Bomberman '94 (Turbographix-16)
      700 Wii Points

      Detana!! TwinBee (Turbographix-16)
      700 Wii Points

This week is the first time we ever get Detana!! TwinBee being released in the US. I might download Bomberman 94 on the Virtual Console. Looks like we did get something good for this week.

Wasn't Stinger on the NES a part of the Twin Bee series?

Yes, and pretty much the only one released in the US.

The wackiness of it reminds me of Fantasy Zone.

Arcade games have been introduced yesterday! And they are:

                  Gaplus (a.k.a. Galaga 3)

                  Mappy

                  Star Force

                  Tower of Druaga

All are 500 points, except for Gaplus.

So Family Guy makes a reference to Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!, and, a day later, we get Super Punch Out!! Coolies.

I'm not sure about the Family Guy joke, but I'm sure this game's release is linked to the new Wii game coming out.

Guys, you're probably not going to believe this, but according to the download details for the SNES Super Punch-Out!! in the Wii Shop Channel, the protagonist is seriously Little Mac, not a nameless boxer. Here are the details:

                            wrote:
Featuring the tight game play and humor the series is known for, this sequel to the NES classic sees Little Mac return to the ring with the World Video Boxing Association belt once again at stake. Slug your way through the grueling, sweat-pounding matches of the Minor, Major and World Circuits as you face of against some of Little Mac's greatest rivals like Bear Hugger, Bald Bull, and Super Macho Man. With a cast of new challengers waiting, do you have what it takes to identify their unique patterns and exploit their weaknesses? Go to your corner, and come out fighting, but remember what Doc Louis would say, "It's not about brawling---it's about finesse!"

Even Doc Louis was mentioned; although he doesn't appear at all in the game, he's probably mentioned along with Little Mac in the instruction booklets for every version of the game, while the person shouting things in the background like "Fight!" and "Knock-Out!" could possibly be him.

We all knew he was Little Mac, parrothead1983. You don't even need to explain that to us.

What do you mean not going to believe it? First off, I read the description on the Shop Channel before you posted it anyway. Second, it was pretty much confirmed that was Little Mac in Fight Night Round 2, not to mention a pretty recent issue of Nintendo Power. Third, I have the instruction manual, pretty sure it doesn't say anything about it there. Fourth... pretty sure that Doc Louis quote is just a reference to the first game.

Well, when I kept showing his SNES look at some places like YTMND, Nintendo Database and Smash Boards, people at those websites kept saying things like "That's not Little Mac!" and "That boxer has no name!" Even though he was referred to as Little Mac in the GCN version of Fight Night Round 2, people thought it was like Mattel giving Ryu from the Street Fighter series "Hoshi" as his last name, which is unofficial, while Capcom decided to officially keep Ken's last name, "Masters" by Mattel to avoid confusion between Barbie's Ken and Street Fighter's Ken. Punch-Out!! fans thought the SNES boxer started off as a nameless character and couldn't believe Little Mac, while they thought EA referred to him as Little Mac, but not Nintendo.

Ryu's last name, Hoshi, is uncanon, due to being made up by Mattel instead of the real creator of the Street Fighter series, Capcom. Also, unlike Ken's last name, "Masters", Capcom did not confirm Ryu's last name to be "Hoshi".
