What forum are you referring to? Personally, as much as I liked the old Doug. I didnt think the Disney one was bad at all.

People just dont like change. The old one was great, so why screw with it? Nick's Doug was one of my all time favorites, and the new version just had so many changes and everything was different. Billy West was no longer Doug, Roger was rich, Patty cut her hair, oh the humanity. But I actually watched some of it, then ABC and Disney tossed it aside and Doug was gone completely. I'd actually watch Disney's Doug over whatever the hell Disney has on now. It had a cool theme song, but not as catchy as the old one. See, there I go.
        WHAT?

Next time you post a thread like this be specific as to who you're talking to, starting threads will little or no information in them have a tendency to get deleted unless someone clarifies it.

But as far as disliking the newer Doug goes, that's obviously because it changed the original so much that it alienated those who originally liked it. And since it wasn't quite as good as the first one it couldn't gather a new audience to it either. More or less what Derrick said.

Because as much as we hate it, they have to all grow up. Yes Bart Simpson hasn't aged but he gets a pass. I think what the creators wanted to do was show how they would go through being a teenager, personally I would've loved to have seen an episode where Doug and Patty had sex, but that's just me.

I actually could stand Disney's Doug to an extent, I was just too lazy to get up at 9AM to watch it :P

Still, it was better than nothing.

PROTIP: They still show Doug on Nickelodeon, it's just halloween and X-Mas specials, or at least they did last year. As I said before: Better than nothing.

One thing that really bothered me about Disney's Doug was how they changed Roger Klotz. In Nick's Doug, then Roger slowly revealed himself to be a much more complex character than previously thought, and you actually came to feel sorry for him a few times. Like when it's revealed how poor he is, and how he shared Doug's inhibitions about graduating... but then Disney threw that all away and turned Roger into just a clichéd rich snob.
