I am very interested in this post as I currently teach children 3-5 with asd. I work through a local school district and receive the children directly from parents as teachers/headstart/first steps/early diagnostics etc. I am a strong advocate for early intervention and having the privelage to work with these amazing little kiddos has changed my life for sure. I have learned so much ~ I am very interested to read this article ... to maybe get a glimpse from another perspective, from a different point in life. I would also love to talk to anyone else who is interested in talking with me / sharing any insight / perspective etc. : O ) Nikkki

They're doing research into that. I read about a study that said that lack of physical exercsion and lots of video games brings these things out in people where they would have otherwise laid dormant.

Its like, there's always been a certain amount of the population that is susceptable to autism/assburgers, but since no one bothers to move away from the tv or computer screen, it comes out.

Okie doke I know you are like god in here ... however I just want to make sure with that vision of you in mind people didn't automatically take what you said here as gospel. This is a topic that is waaay to emense to be defined in a box ... or a post ... etc. and it is not something that lies dormant brought about by video games and lack of physical exertion. It is a spectrum of disorders that occurs VERY early in life and while it might not be diagnosed early if it all (depending on the level of function) it exists ... it does not just lie dormant only to be brought out. There is regressive ... however ... once again this tends to occur at or around the age of 2-3. And its Aspergers ... not assburgers. I can only hope this little post of yours is somewhat like your recent tragic passing. :? If not, you know how people "look up to you" on here ... why not make an attempt to not lead them straight into ignorance? (the literal definition). I realize that I do not know everything to know about asd ... but I do know enough to know NOT to offer random posts about it. I'll get off my soapbox now and check periodically for the silly retaliation posts.

Holy Crap! There are a ton of people in this forum with Asbergers Syndrome. The big thing about this is I'm not surprised at all. I have a good friend who's an adult with Asbergers. The same friend also has a son who has Asbergers. I myself have autistic tendencies but I have a learning disability that mimics autism. It's called Audio Processing Disorder. I know that you can be a high functioning person with Asbergers, or Low functioning person with Asbergers. People need to remember that it's a spectrum disorder and not all Aspies function at the same level. Autism is not caused by vaccines, and we've seen this rise in Autism due to better diagnosis of Spectral Disorders. I believe that a lot of peoplewho love to collect things have some sort of this disorder. I do a lot of Comic Conventions and there are a lot of Aspis who attend. Most Aspies have a certain body language that anyone with experience can spot right away. A lot of high functioning adults can hide the fact they're an Aspie but still have trouble when it comes to personal relationships. I could talk hours on this subject .

                Just to let everyone know:

I'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread. There was already some trouble a few pages earlier, and if this thread devolves into mockery of and joking about this spectrum of disorders, I will have no hesitations about shutting down the thread.

                Play nice, everyone.

I happen to know KirbysLover, via internet. She showed me this yesterday and as harsh as this might sound, she brought it on her own self for posting both her art and journal entries.

Now, back to today's topic: While I am not Autistic nor do I have Asperger's Syndrome, I have two friends, one physical and the other online who have Asperger's Syndrome. My internet friend pushes through his Asperger's to where it doesn't show at all. My physical friend is the opposite and uses it as an excuse for his behaviour, which I can say KirbysLover, rather Andrea Huckstep does, too.

I don't have either disorder, but I know and work with people who do. I have been working with kids who are autistic in a summer camp starting in the summer of 2007.

So there's another person here who likes the Encyclopedia Dramatica other than me and even CheezNapkin.

I heard of Kirbyslover and she often do very pathetic things like through a hissy fit just because she missed an episode of Sonic X, and I don't like that show too much so I wouldn't care. I mean I heard season two of that series bombed because it usually focused on Tails and another non-SegaSonic character Cosmo and the show basically got raped very quickly. I hear she also thrown a fit over missing an episode of the Pokemon series. I mean she's very batshit insane. She even gone to the hospital over the Mario-DDR, has a toy doll which is very creepy, made a shotacon pairing of Ness and Samus Aran, and done mostly crappy paint over images which doesn't make sense. She's even desperate to get her Encyclopedia Dramatica article just because of all the nonsense crap she done to deserve it. In fact, many people want their ED articles removed because they were featured there all because they are internet idiots and sick fucks like Snapesnogger.

That isn't the half of it, MRCSL1. Try this on for size: It's January 2006 when I first met Andrea Huckstep [a.k.a KirbysLover, a.k.a. Queen DeDeDe] online... A very good internet friend of mine and I thought it'd be both neat and nice to help a fellow parody artist out after "discovering" her song "parodies" [to call them parodies, let alone FUNNY is a farce] through AmIRight.com a week earlier, by providing her with Adobe Audition and some instrumentals we've made...

At first, she seemed harmless. We even thought she was poking fun of herself about being Autistic, with us thinking it was an exaggerated joke and untrue, but much to our chagrin, we were so very wrong... We searched for her online for about three days in hopes that we could find her e-mail address. As luck had it, we find an e-mail address, but it was no longer a valid one, thusly bouncing the e-mail my friend sent to her back to his inbox. Later, we find another e-mail address of hers from a profile in a message board she used to frequent and quickly e-mail her, in hopes it was still a working e-mail address and that she'd respond, later my friend finds her AIM screen name from the same forum profile, locates her on AIM and drops her a line with her later responding. Since I don't have, use nor do I care for AIM, we introduce Andrea Huckstep to Skype since my friend and I communicate through Skype. Later, after Andrea installed Skype, my friend and I add her to our Skype buddies list, call Andrea and formally introduce ourselves through Skype, but about five minutes into the conference when my friend sends her a link to a re-created Ashlee Simpson instrumental I both put together [with my SoundFonts, MIDI-to-WAV rendering software and later touching it up on Adobe Audition] and sent to him a few days earlier, she F***ING FLIPS OUT LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL over it not downloading from his Apache server. While she's flipping out, crying and screaming in terror, thinking that she "killed the internet", we try to calm her down, but fail, which quickly scares the SH** out of both of us, despite my poor friend trying to fix his server's problem to calm her down. During all of this, I make the excuse that my dad needed me for something and I cut the call without so much as a "goodbye" to Andrea and later block her from my Skype list to avoid another encounter from her. My friend does the same thing because we were shaken for three, if not five hours and later chat about our mistake.

Andrea's case is a sad one because she honestly thinks the world owes her for being Autistic [amongst a laundry list of other mental illnesses and abnormalities], and that the world revolves around her, but that's not the case here ladies and gentlemen, no sir.

While my only disability is simply low, impaired vision and nothing else, I don't use that as a crutch or an excuse for anything similar to what she typically does at her [assembly(??)] work, home or online. Take it from someone who used to chat with her. DON'T FALL INTO HER TRAP!!! SHE WILL SCARE THE SH** OUT OF YOU!!!

::Additional Comment:: Hey, MRCSL1, did you read her DeviantART Journal Entry about her Temper Tantrum at the Barnes and Noble over not being able to obtain a [stupid] Viva Pinata Sticker Book??

I can still agree more that she does some of the most embarrassing stuff on the internet. I mean she always throws a hissy fit over everything. I met Kirbyslover back in March or April 2006 and I though I might fit in until the many atrocities she have done, so much E-Drama and when I first encountered ED found a page their where she soon starts bitching and moaning about it on ED and makes a journal and a Webcam image which is an edit from a screenshot of I think is Conker's Bad Fur Day saying "Feck off -Encyclopedia Dramatica-" until she removed it after she found my entry on a LiveJournal community deviantART Snark. She was even invited to an Anti-ED community on deviantART which soon got permanently banned after it's first 24 hours. Now there is another Anti-ED community made months later only it's still up, and has the same pathetic members.

Another internet idiot similar is a guy named MikeRoach113 (Wilbury on dA). One of the dumbest things he did was a hate gif. of the group Nirvana which had jokes stolen from the Uncyclopedia article on that group as he tried to be edgy but failed miserably. He is as well on ED. He also gives great games like Twinbee and Snatcher very bad names.

Andrea's case is truly a sad one if you ask me. While I'll admit that I had something similar happen to me last November due to online idiocy that goes on in a message board that I don't post in that a friend linked me to, I was shocked, angry and appalled that someone would create a meaningless thread about yours truly. While it did get heavy towards the end of November, the best thing that my suppportive friends and a co-worker advised me to do was ignore it because when you get down to it, cyber-bullying is very much like physical bullying. The more you ignore it, the more it calms the flames, but Andrea Huckstep has yet to learn that trick of the trade.

::Additional Comment:: MRCSL1, if you're interested in what Andrea's parodies sound like, drop me a PM and I'll be happy to send you everything she's released, including one she didn't, entitled "What a Friend We Have in Sonic", which is a "parody" of the classic hymn, "What a Friend We have in Jesus", which is quite disturbing and comes off like she's worshiping Sonic the Hedgehog in prayer. Yes, you heard me, WORSHIPING SONIC THE HEDGEHOG IN PRAYER. I told her that it wasn't funny, tactful and was very poorly worded. I'll have to look up the lyrics through the Weird Al forums she and I visit.

Apparently, my posts about KirbysLover (see KL's Encyclopedia Dramatica article) have derailed the main topic about the experiences of being Autistic.

While I am not Autistic and have seen a few documentaries on the subject, I think an article about both the positive and negative experiences Autism brings, I think it would be interesting hearing it from someone who is indeed Autistic.

Ive actually known someone with autism. But it was more hardcore than just being anti-social and geeky. He went to my high school and he was super quiet and didn't talk to anybody, he had certain "ticks" like he would curse under his breath or something if somebody were to make fun of him, he was really smart but had the handwriting and drawing ability of an elementary school kid. I don't know why but I always loved to be around him, I could safely say I was his only friend in school and I helped him finish assignments alot. Nobody understood why I hung out with him in study hall and liked to sit with him at lunch, if you were to actually talk with him he is such a nice guy. I feel really bad for him :( I got made fun of for hanging out with him, I don't care though.
