Aside from Toy Story 1 and Monster's Inc., I really don't like anything else that they've done

I genuinly don't like pixar. Honestly, my favorite is A Bugs Life, and that particular movie isn't as good as its competitor Antz. The animation is fine, but I don't really enjoy the stories...on second thought, Incredibles is also pretty impressive.

I agree "Happy Feet" didn't deserve the Oscar, but at least it wasn't a Pixar film.

*clears throat* A-hem. First off, thank you for finding my opinions objectionable. And I really do hope you enjoy/have enjoyed your home schooling experience. We here on the internet, are allowed to post our views, opinions, and feelings. Its called the freedom of internet speech. I personally feel that Pixar has only done a handful of good films. And they are as follows; The Incredibles, Toy Story, and the effects for Young Sherlock Holmes.

Pixar is an overrated company. Their stories tend to blatantly tug at the heart strings. Needlessly, I may add. Their humans all tend to look like overinflated water balloons. And the stories are generally sappy. Yes, it is a family company, making family films. But that still doesn't change the fact that they indeed overrated.

I may suggest that you check your keyboard. It seems to be replacing needed vowels with an asterisk.

Thank you. And have a pleasant RetroJunk experience.

*picks up a scroll, a quill pen and some ink. Dips, drops, and begins to write with the air of a young, female Shakespeare*

                      Dearest Jess1993,

Thank you for that public missing. Though I knew it was not directed at me, I felt compelled to respond, for its eloquence fair took my breath away. I particularly admire your 'c*nt', though I fear your blotter may have smeared the ink somewhat. DO not listen to what the others are saying, however... your 'c*nt' smells fresh as a daisy to me.

My dear, I fear I must cut this short -- important people are calling for me, and though your writing plucked unnecessarily and obviously at my heart strings, you don't outrank them. Until next time, darling.

                      Sincerely,

                      Whilhelmina Shakespeare

                        Dude, Pixar's plots SUCK!!!

Let's make a movie about a racecar that leaves and then comes back and we'll call it CARS

Let's make a movie where a fish gets lost and call it FINDING NEMO

Let's make a movie about a house with balloons and call it UP

Seriously, I have no clue how they manage to make feature length films out of these coffee table ideas.

                        I CAN WORK FOR PIXAR...

How about a movie where an old man creates a giant drill and goes to the center of the Earth. I'll call it DOWN.

Pixar's plots do not suck. You have no idea what REAL plots are. Pixar's plots are phenomenal! It's called creativity - something you just don't have; so, no you CAN'T work for Pixar. In order to work for Pixar, you have to have an imagination, which you don't. I'm sorry you people just can't see the greatness of Pixar's amazing movies. I'm sorry you people have no idea what real animated movies are. I'm sorry to see so many people who can't enjoy movies as indescribably great as Pixar's movies. And btw, this topic is incredibly one-sided; I know Jess1993 was a jerk, but maybe if you guys would'nt have acting like jerks to start with, none of that would've happened. Who knows? You might of insulted his greatest fandom (Pixar's MY greatest fandom, and I actually felt offended by this entire one-sided thread. But, that's just my opinion (I bet I'm going to be banned for having one).

To wrap-up my comment, Pixar is unbelievably amazing - they make great, memorable movies with great plots, great characters, and great messages. Their movies, short films, and everything else they do is amazing - always has been, always will be, no matter what anyone says. And no, they are NOT overrated; being insanely great and better than all other animation studios and being "overrated" are completely different. The real overrated animation studio is Dreamworks; you honestly think Pixar's plots suck (which is entirely not true), just look at Dreamworks! Here's the plot summary of most of the Dreamworks animated movies: "Animals that do things that animals don't normally do". But Pixar has a wide variety in their movies: toys coming to life, life from the eyes of a bug, a world of monsters, a fish in search for his son, a family of super-heroes, a world of living cars, a rat who dreams of being a chef, robots in the future, and an old man who wants to fulfill his dead wife's dreams. Yep. Those are really great animated movies. Pixar is underrated, and Dreamworks is overrated.

(Sorry, just telling you people the truth.)

                              Monster's Inc.

                              FAILS: (7)

Toy Story 2 (Stinky Pete, really??)
Finding Nemo (a one sentence plot plus Ellen Degenerous)
A Bug's Life (nobody likes liars)
                              Cars (Larry the Cable Guy)
Incredibles (A rip off of pre-existing heroes plus a major villain fail)
                              Ratatouille (rats in the kitchen)
Up (Old man + annoying kid)

                              Wall-E

                              BOTTOM LINE-

If you're all into Pixar, then you're easily impressed by pretty colors and must be a huge John Ratzenberger fan

PS- Dreamworks' Antz is way better than A Bug's Life

I like most Pixar Movies, I haven't seen Cars but i've made a promise to myself that I would never watch anything that involves Larry The Cable guy after a late night viewing of Witless Protection. I don't know what all the beef with Ratatouille is, I thought it was good, and what other animated film deserve to win the Oscar in 2007? Brad Bird directed the movie, who's resume contains movies like The Iron Giant and The Incredibles so saying their was a lack of talent or material would be inaccurate, just because it wasn't groundbreaking doesn't make it bad.

I'll call it DOWN.

these are some pretty broad summations here, by your logic American Beauty could be Summed up by saying a guy quits his job to smoke pot and work in a fast food restaurant. It's foolish to think Pixar just throws plots together, recent Pixar movies had a production budget of 180 million dollars, if you think a studio would put up that much money for a production with no plot then your sorely mistaken, no studio puts up that much money for something they're not sure will make their money back for them. Animated movies take much more attention and care then most movies thats why most of them are well recieved because of how much work goes into them.

whoever made the Yankees comparison was spot on, people like the Yankees because it's easy to like the Yankees, they pay the most for the best and you get what you pay for, whether you like them or not the one thing they are is reliable but that doesn't always appeal to everyone. Pixar is the same way, they pay the most for the best animators with plots that will appeal to the majority of people and they're mostly successful. I like Pixar but I will say they are over rated, I've watched a Pixar movie and at the end thought it was very good but it's never shaken me up like other movies have. People always blow things out of proportion and tell you something is the greatest in the world it's unavoidable, but it all comes down to your own opinion.
