I agree that Pixar is highly overrated. They are like Microsoft or the New York Yankees. But I DID like the Toy Story movies and "The Incredibles."

But I think "Ratatouille" DID NOT deserve to win the Oscar! Not because Pixar made it, but because it's a CGI TALKING ANIMAL MOVIE, like the many hundreds that Hollywood's been churning out since 2002, with formulaic plots, cheap crude humor and annoying characters. I hope Pixar never makes another talking animal movie. If they do, I'll go crazy!

Daffy Duck has worse problems with Pixar in my "Hard Times for Daffy" fanfics...

I don't remeber Ratatouille having crude humor, and it deserved it more than a movie about surfing peinguins.

With the exception of Blue Sky animations, Surf's Up, and a few Dreamworks movies, Pixar makes the only CGI movies that I can stand, I mean, come on, even if you hate Ratatouille, you have to admit that it's better than movies like Doogal, Happily N'ever After, and Barnyard.

Ratatouille and the upcoming Wall*E. Which does nothing for me either.

my son wants to see wall-e but i think it'll be a short curcuit II rehash for kids.

Also WileE2005, you might not think that Ratatouille deserves an Oscar, and I'm fine with that, but you know what else didn't deserve it? Happy Feet. I mean, Ratatouille may not have lived up to all the hype, but at least it kept me awake.

No, Happy Feet won the oscar, a movie about dancing peinguins.

No, Happy feet just sent subliminal messages of how we need to stop fishing, and save the world.

Toy Story was to me their best movie ever. The Incredibles was good also. Yet the more computer animations that keep coming out, the more I feel that regular animation will be forgotten. If they are attempting to take over Disney then they're screwed.

                                  Anywho....
I think people overblow and overrate Pixar so much because mostly the rest of the mainstream movies(specifically CGI) suck so much. Or are just carbon copies of one another.

                                  Get crazy cooky characters
                                  Get celebrites/comedians to do voice-overs
                                  Create boring predictable "story"
Add in a buncha gags and innuendos for the adults (to make them go TEE HEE that wuz funney) that don't add anything to the story or movie.
Repeat in the unlimited amount of sequels.

Pixar at least TRIES to make a movie that's more than just looks and a quick buck. Like Miyazaki, they want to tell a good story along with showcasing what CGI can really do. That's really what I'm looking for. That you actually made an effort to make a good movie rather than just make a quick buck...

Pixar is an awesome animation company. I still have yet to see one bad Pixar movie.

I've loved every Pixar movie I've seen except Cars, which I thought was kind of lacking, but I still haven't seen Incredibles, Ratatoullie, or Wall-E. Incredibles is the one I want to see the most out of the three.

I genuinly don't like pixar. Honestly, my favorite is A Bugs Life, and that particular movie isn't as good as its competitor Antz. The animation is fine, but I don't really enjoy the stories...on second thought, Incredibles is also pretty impressive.
                                        Oh yeah?

I like Pixar, I've been a fan even before Toy Story came out. Back when they just did Shorts (The Tin Toy is my favorite Pixar short) They've created wonderfully animated stories.
