I don't like where these modern horror films are going. They are focusing more on sheer brutality than anything else. That's not scary, it's just tasteless and disturbing. Horror movies back in the day were much better and entertaining.

I like the older horror movies better, I like the creepy music in them, slower camera movement, now its all fast and crazy, also too much CGI, they even have CGI blood now lol.

I used to enjoy a good horror flick back in the day. I can't stomach all the gory shenanigans that they are up to these days. And the "Horror Fest" movies should be retitled "Boring Fest", they are all shitty movies.

Is "A Clockwork Orange" considered a horror movie?? I remember watching that movie at a very young age, sans parents, that movie fucked me all up.

I've seen Audition. There isn't any gore at all until roughly the last thirty minutes of the film, but the parts that are gory definitely deliver. One scene in particular actually made me gag, although you'd have to see the film to know which one.

Is that the movie where the crazy bitch is yanking out the dudes teeth with pliers??

You think "Hostel 1 & 2" and the "Saw" sequels are gross-out and vile stuff? think again! the only films that are extremely worse then them are "Bloodsucking Freaks", "Men Behind The Sun", "Guiena Pig", "The New York Ripper", "Ichi The Killer", "Cannibal Ferox", "Jungle Holocaust", "Cannibal Holocaust" and "Maniac" are real chunk-blowers.

Audition, is that the one where the girl keeps some guy in a sack, slowly dismembering him, but keeping him alive?

Yep, and the sickest part of it all was how she fed him.

Pjb2377, I think you're thinking of Oldboy. Never seen that one.

Anyone else seen all of the Faces Of Death films?

I've no idea how many there are now, but I saw 1 through 8 a few years ago.

                        One was a bit shit.

It was just an autopsy for the whole edition.

                        It was boring, frankly.

the others - all random killings, suicides, etc... that was interesting, if not somewhat disturbing.

I love the suicides. They are my favorite.

                          So fucked up.

Normally, I don't get scared in any Horror Films. I always enjoy all the Gore films in the Horror Genre.

I think there are good horror films. The majority of the good ones are foreign films. Has anybody here seen dog soldiers or descent? Thw good horror films in my opinion.

I liked parts of The Grudge, but why are all these Japanese horror movies about cell phones and email? I think if I was being haunted via email, I would call the ghost a fucking nerd, regardless how scary it was.

The Ring had a haunted video tape, The Grudge had the ghost calling a girl's cell phone, There's some new movie called "Shutter" about cameras and ghosts, and then a few years back there was one about a ghost emailing shit to a bunch of college students.

How long before they make one about ghosts that use photoshop to edit your face onto embarrassing porn images?

I've seen the Japanese version of the Ring and The Grudge, and they were pretty much the same as the American version. The cell phone and video tape parts were in both versions.

There just aren't any good horror movies being produced any more. It's all Saw part 12 and Hostel part stupid. They need to go back to the basics, back to a time when psychological horror themes blended with actual effects and make-up instead of just gore for shock value and damn CG crap. As Roadblock would say: "NO!"

I saw Dog Soldiers. That was bit too much for me. I basically was peeping between my hands that were covering my eyes the entire movie. I'd rather be scared shitless than grossed out by gore.

Descent......that movie did have its moments, I will admit. However, the unbelievability factor combined with the retards involved just lost me somewhere in those damn caves.
