    DVD
    Advantages:
    a. They have a boatload of special features (extras, gag reels).
    b. They have awesome quality.
    c. They are compact and easy to store in bookshelves, cabinets, and the like.
    d. They can be played on most computers
    e. They can last longer then VHS tapes.

    Disadvantages
    a. They can be easily misplaced.
    b. They can break easily.
    c. They get scratched up easily too. Then they don't work as good in players.

    VHS
    Advantages
    a. They are durable and versatile.
    b. They are good for nostaglia types (like me )
    c. There are many different labels to choose from (e.g: Key Video, Vestron Video, Family Home Entertainment, The Movie Store), instead of having all movies be forced into 3 or 4 basic distributors (Sony Pictures HE, Warner Home Video, etc).

    Disadvantages
    a. Horrible sound quality.
    b. Can wear out after a while.
    c. Some VCRs can mangle tapes.

Huh ? Horrible sound ? maybe on an old lo-fi but A good Hi-Fi with clean heads sounds amazing some bands even recorded there masters to VHS because of the great sound

I'm gonna have to say VHS, even though I don't own a VCR anymore, VHS tapes hold so many beloved memories to me, I wish my computer could have an expansion slot so I could play all my old 80s and 90s tapes on it. That would be awesome.

VHS... you don't have to do anything while it's playing.

VHS, not only are they cheap as hell now, but they are also invincible. the only problem is overwatching vhs because the tape stops working

As much as I love my old VHS collection, theres something to be said about the clear quality of DVD. Also, ive played some of my old videos on VHS recently, and a few are starting to lose quality.. something you dont see happen to DVD's.

I still have a HUGE VHS collection and don't intend on ditching them anytime soon. I also have lots of DVDs. I like both! VHS tapes have that nostalgia factor which I love. DVDs are of course clear, excellent quality. I actually haven't even switched to Blu-ray yet because I haven't felt the need for it, I'm still enjoying my collection of movies on both formats.
