You just don't understand the genious of shows for their times.
In a fe years you probably won't like seinfeld in family guy anymore either.
I personally dislike some of the later Family Guy episodes because they have to bash Meg just to fill up the time. The earlier episodes were much funnier and better done. I personally hate the Meg bashing. To me, that shows lack of creativity. I like Seinfeld, and that show will always be funny. I Love Lucy, to me, isn't that entertaining, but I don't dislike it, just nothing I'd voluntarily watch, and would only watch if nothing else was on and I was in the mood to watch something. I like the Honeymooners more than I Love Lucy. I like Leave it to Beaver more than I Love Lucy. I even like Rifle Man more than I Love Lucy. These shows I find more entertaining than I Love Lucy.

I think my main gripe with I Love Lucy was Desi's character. Something about his character was incredibly annoying to me.

I feel that Hiro made a very good point and it was way better than what I was attempting to do. Seems that most shows are limited to a specific age group (80s & 90s), as opposed to the real old stuff. Of course, as you pointed out, some 90s stuff was aimed at both children and adults, and seems it was mostly the Warner Bros stuff. The kids could enjoy the slapstick, while the adults could enjoy the jokes.

Yes, Hiro did make a good point. Personally, I think the lack of family programming or just programming with a wide appeal is what everyone's really complaining about.

But since the world seems to have changed so much since 9/11, I have started really looking at things and analyzing them. It's given me a more negative perspective on this decade, I won't deny that. But it hasn't completely changed me because I'm still optimistic that things will start getting better in the next decade. Aside from that, I think the whole Dora thing is just part of my new way of thinking of the world, but that might be getting too philosophical.

I actually find the view an interesting one. Feel free to elaborate.

My view is what happens when I see a change and analyze it. I used to really look down on changes after 9/11 because it seemed like everything was changing. Actually, it still seems that way. But in the past couple of years I have been a little more optimistic about some changes. As for Dora, I percieved her to be a change, and based on my own conclusions, it either falls into my harsh cynical views or my optimistic views. There isn't much in between. Dora got pushed into my harsh cynical views because it seems like a form of progaganda. There were other reasons but that was what really swayed that decision. I know it seems like a lot of unnecessary thought over a simple TV show, but that rule generally applies to any change.

Recipe for nostalgia: Mix 80's and 90's culture. Stir in some good memories. Add a dash of reflection. Mixture should now taste bittersweet. Shake well and enjoy!

The point is you can't have a tv sucks now article without mentioning everything.

              Kids shows
              Teen shows
              Adult shows
"Adult" shows(which no one will possibly think sucks... well in the bad way manner)

I dislike some kids shows, I like Brandy and Mr. whiskers, Buzz on Maggie, camp Lazlo. But I hate shows like chowder

I hate every teen show because they are too fake and its like its all drama and nothing good happens, but I loved Saved by the bell

You can have the fight about kids shows being aimed towards kids but what about stuff aimed towards us?

Who cares? Nick, CN and Disney sucks now. All of the shows are lame cartoons with fart jokes or stupid teen shows. Fuck that shit. Give me the 90s and early 00s any day.

By golly, the times I'd have just sittin' there shouting at the kids in Legends of the Hidden Temple, how they're just too dumb putting that dumbass Silver Monkey together. I miss that talkin' tiki wonder called Olmec. Knowledgable he was, mobile he wasn't. When I'd get bored of watching a red cat and a chiuaua doing bizarre hootinanny, I would go to my room and listen to my Sound Garden records... for listening! And anybody remember the Atari Jaquar? Those graphics were blockier than pixelated pornography! Time has passed, and I haven't aged a bit! But now Nickylodeon's the equivelant of a World War II battle, without all the Kamikazes and tyrants! Dang ol' Nickylodeon, ya screwed me over!

*still Grampa Simpson* Back in my day, Cartoon Network was the talk of the town! All cartoons, all the time! From your timeless Hannah Barbera Classics, to the Merrie Melodies, to the strange World Premiere Toons with the introductions of classic Cartoon Network characters of the future! There was Blossom, Butters, and Buttercup, who were as cute as newborn babies! Johnny Bravo, who was as stylish as Alex Trebek! Finally Dexter, who was smarter than Gerald Ford, may he rest in peace. Those characters were darn tootin'! Then they had to ruin it all by bringin' in the crap like Lamp Cazlo and In of Johnny's Brain! Why I oughta-*falls asleep*

In all seriousness, it was a fun read. Hearing you rant on and on about the clichéd and overdone articles that Retro Junk is know for. Quite funny! Although the AVGN thing was unnecessary.

please abe go back to the home its time cod liver oil and ole timey movies with bob hope and bing crosby.
