Sure a lot of old shows are good, but there is a lot of good new shows too if you would just give them a chance. Not every show from the past was good either, in fact all of this "TV sucks now" stuff isn't new at all. Your parents probably didn't like the shows you liked as kids and thought of them as "mindless drivel" and "nothing more than to sell toys".
