YOU. its ABOUT TIME someone stuck it to all the people here who keep making "nickelodeon sucks" articles and keep saying cartoons today arent as good as before, well that is TOTALLY wrong, cartoons today are still great and that is that. and its SO obvious nickelodeon sucks, WE ALLLLLL KNOW IT! i mean yes we do have different opinions on what doesnt suck...but still stop saying ooh i miss ren and stimpy i miss rocko and old rugrats blablablablabla! GROW UP ALREADY AND GET OVER IT! YOU STILL HAVE MEMORIES AND YOUTUBE! also i didnt know u could ever make an article about crappy articles. psh what do i know anyway? i STILL cant make articles but theres always this forum which is good anyway. and yes Out of Jimmy's head is the lowest thing cartoon network has ever created. Id rather watch.....................Tim and....Eric's........uh....yeah.....It's the same concept as Disney's Lizzie Mcguire and that ladies and gentlemen is why i hate hilary duff. i mean, hilary "dumb". thank and good night.

You make excellent points. Its natural that people would be biased towards their own eras, but it's not OK to be a bigot about it (which a lot of people on this site are). Yeah, maybe you think programming sucks now. Well what the hell do you expect? You are in your late teens / 20's / 30's now. The shows you're watching now are designed for people that are only a fraction of your age. Now someone will try and dispute this by saying, "you say that I don't like shows now because they're not designed for me. Well then Hot Shot, explain to me why I can -- as an adult -- watch old shows from the past and enjoy them, even though those, too, were designed for children?" Simple, guys: you're biased. Whether you're aware of it or not, a big part of the reason you like re-watching these is because there's nostalgic and personal sentiment attached to it! There's the classic cliche of a Grandpa looking back in retrospect, talking about the "good old days." The cliche is usually meant to be offensive, as if pops is off his rocker. Well guess what? The hunter has now become the hunted. If you bash the current generation, you're now playing the role of the senile, incoherent Grandpa.

By golly, the times I'd have just sittin' there shouting at the kids in Legends of the Hidden Temple, how they're just too dumb putting that dumbass Silver Monkey together. I miss that talkin' tiki wonder called Olmec. Knowledgable he was, mobile he wasn't. When I'd get bored of watching a red cat and a chiuaua doing bizarre hootinanny, I would go to my room and listen to my Sound Garden records... for listening! And anybody remember the Atari Jaquar? Those graphics were blockier than pixelated pornography! Time has passed, and I haven't aged a bit! But now Nickylodeon's the equivelant of a World War II battle, without all the Kamikazes and tyrants! Dang ol' Nickylodeon, ya screwed me over! still Grampa Simpson Back in my day, Cartoon Network was the talk of the town! All cartoons, all the time! From your timeless Hannah Barbera Classics, to the Merrie Melodies, to the strange World Premiere Toons with the introductions of classic Cartoon Network characters of the future! There was Blossom, Butters, and Buttercup, who were as cute as newborn babies! Johnny Bravo, who was as stylish as Alex Trebek! Finally Dexter, who was smarter than Gerald Ford, may he rest in peace. Those characters were darn tootin'! Then they had to ruin it all by bringin' in the crap like Lamp Cazlo and In of Johnny's Brain! Why I oughta-falls asleep In all seriousness, it was a fun read. Hearing you rant on and on about the clichéd and overdone articles that Retro Junk is know for. Quite funny! Although the AVGN thing was unnecessary.

If you miss your old cartoons that much, buy the DVDs, watch them online. Just stop whining about how much today's cartoons suck when you know for a fact that you grew up and watching cartoons may not be the same for you anymore. Like what gustogummi said, if you don't like the cartoons of today, then don't watch them.

Do your part to write articles about topics you want to write about and think are important. if you are going to talk about things that YOU like and hate...let other people talk about things that they like and hate. on a site that is supposed to be fun for people to come to, calling out names shouldn't really happen. You shouldn't get uptight about people talking bad about the cartoons and tv you watch. Nobody is forcing anything on you, stop taking other people's words as gospel and stop thinking that your opinion is the only one that matters. I agree that there are a lot of articles on here with very closed minded ideas. Is it really worth getting made at?

liukangx 7 years 1 month ago Posts: 3919	So I guess we cant say what we don't like what they air on tv? and we just let our kids watch this stuff that is teaching them nothing? this website is a reministing about old stuff and some people have a problem what is happening now. what a BET and MTV? those are suppose to be music channels. and when you pay that cable bill(or satellite) you are paying for what you want. MTV is suppose to be Music television not reality television. maybe if we worked hard enough we could establish a tv network for the older tv shows so it isn't "watch what is on now or wait til never for the old stuff to come on DVD" It can happen

As long as you are not a Neilsen family, they aren't going to care if you watch or not. The cartoons of today only suck because you grew up. I realized that back in the 1990s when many kids at my high school were complaining how much new cartoons sucked. Get over it and move on. If RJ was around when the internet was started to get popular (mid-late 1990s) there would of been plenties of TV sucks now articles and what not. I probably would of wrote one as well. But guess what, I didn't and I won't. There are too many TV/cartoons suck now articles, that is all what Spongeroks is trying to say. And I agree. People should write about a cartoon or show that they like other than whining how much TV sucks now.

liukangx 7 years 1 month ago Posts: 3919	I can go through a list of things different now from then. can you explain MTV and VH1 and the other "Music" channels? so I guess since I'm turning to the music channel to watch and listen to music and get screwed over with reality channels isn't turn to another channel? No I have a choice if I want to complain I will. and cartoons today are different from the 50,60,70,80,90s because of one reason Political correctness, it be different if it was like they do the same thing as before but different, but now they make it look like the world is this perfect place where nothing goes wrong and the try to shield there children from everything then they grow up finding out its a lie and dont know what to do. you can keep saying change the channel but that wont bring anything back. closes thing we got to seeing those things is those "I love the (90s,80s, 70s) specials on VH1. I dont know what you think but I care about those old years and I want kids today to see real cartoons like Bugs bunny and Tom and Jerry. not spongebob and fosters. they need to know how all of this started

Every generation thinks their cartoons are better than the newer generation. When I was in my early teens, I thought the new cartoons sucked. Then, when I got in my final year in high school (1994), I realized they only sucked because I grew up and they was outside of my taste. My parents have never been nostaglic people since their childhoods were pretty bad but they didn't mind what I watched as a kid. You can complain about TV sucking now all you want, but it's not really going to get you anywhere. I used to complain how much TV sucks now, but then I realize that TV is going to keep changing whether we like it or not.

In fact, the only "kids" shows from '92 onwards we thought were decent were Batman, Gargoyles, Animaniacs, The Tick (which had a more grown up appeal anyway), Beast Wars, and MAYBE X-Men. Everything else sucked. Now I'm sure a lot of people here loved all those other shows. My friends and I didn't, but they just weren't written for us. And am I the only one who thinks there's a LOT of great TV if you know where to find it? Entourage. Heroes. Lost. Prison Break. 24. Arrested Development. The Shield. Nip/Tuck. Rescue Me. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Robot Chicken. South Park. The new Battlestar Galactica. Reaper. Aliens in America. Pushing Daisies. Deadwood. And until somewhat recently, The Sopranos, The Dead Zone, and Dead Like Me.
