Streets of Rage and Final Fight-which was better?

System 8 years 11 months ago Posts: 74809	I think the defining Streets of Rage moments was player one choosing to remain good and player 2 choosing to join Mr. X in the last level. Then they end up fighting each other. After winning the fight, Mr. X sends your ass back to level 7. Truly awesome stuff (for its time).

Gorbash 8 years 11 months ago Posts: 361	Streets of Rage was amazing Streets of Rage 2 pushed it futher in every area Streets of Rage 3 was just 2 but diffrent colours and random things added one. My jaw hit the floor the first time I played Streets of Rage 2, but kinda went back up after seeing 3

System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	well i have to say that i have played them both all the way through, and i have to admit that i like streets of rage a heck of a lot better because numerous reasons. 1, the music in streets of rage rocked compared to ff. 2, the fighting system was more indepth and complex i.e. if you grabbed someone in SOR you could jump over them and suplex them. and there combos were longer. plus i liked the cop car special. and the game was just more interesting and felt more gritty and lifelike despite the graphics differential. yes final fight had better graphics but only because it was on a more capable system. and because of that i have to say that they just didnt try hard enough on the game. now as to final fight 2 and three compared to streets of rage 2 and 3, i dont see what the big deal about SOR 2 is because ive played all three and i think its the worst one. its controls are less responsive and are delayed. and yes the graphics were stepped up from one but suck compared to three. in my streets of rage wisdom i have to say that three was the best, but because my favorite character was Adam i have to say that its a tie between one and three. but to the subject at hand. streets of rage 1 vs final fight 1 my ruling is streets of rage is the obvious winner.....

GrimmTrixX 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 139	Streets of rage 2 is the best out of all the others, and out of final fight. I mean it had the best characters, Max, axel, blaz and skate. I was always axel or max, my friend was always skate, and the game was just great! When you double tapped an direction and hit an attack you'd do a different move (axel had the bare knuckle uppercut which, in japan, the games are called "bare knuckle". I mean, I played through final fight on the xbox capcom classics collection recently and it was monotonous, but streets of rage had different bosses, cooler bosses like Jet, and the guy who looked oddly like Blanka, and Shiva. The whole SoR trilogy is awesome. Streets of rage 3 is not without its charm either, especially since there's a code to be the kangaroo and to be shiva, but they gave skate some new special move where he flailed his arms running at the enemy, it was lame since the drill move was way better, but axel kept his fast punching one which was the best. But yea, final fight was fun, but streets of rage destroyed it, and you can tell SoR 2 rips off final fight so much if you play the 2 games close together, cuz enemies look similar (punk rocker guys in SOR2 look like enemies in FF). Half the enemies even move the exact same way in both games. Either way, I have spent MANY hours in my life playing SoR games, but #2 was my all time favorite, hell, next to toejam and earl, Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite sega game of all time.

ChowTimer 8 years 5 months ago Posts: 125	Both were great games but personally the Final Fight series was a little better and Final Fight 3 for the SNES was the best of the bunch. Streets of Rage 2 was great as well and 3 wasn't bad but I thought that the first one wasn't that great.
