    Hi All:)

How does everyone feel about retro toys & Toys of today? Not even Versus, but just the difference

Retro Toys-The toys we had when we were younger rocked & still do rock as you can still find them on eBay & other places:)

Yet, toys of today rock as well:) We, having children, etc. (I do not have any personally, but I have young cousins who I buy today's toys for) still buy today's toys

The new Star Wars toys and others, one of my cousin's (who I am thinking of while writing this) is into Godzilla, and so, we buy him the Godzilla toys of today at TOYS R US and other places

There may be a difference between the toys of generation to generation (and there obviously is), but I enjoy today's toys as well

I was in KMART today looking for Christmas Present ideas for my cousins and I was wondering which toys of today would/will be the collector's items of the next generation when the younger generation of today will be older as well

    Just a little spiel:)

    Let me know everyone's opinions

    Thank you

The thing I don't like about the toys of today is that the plastic feels cheap. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a collector and love how toys look better than they did, but the plastic doesn't feel right sometimes. I'm not talking about just US toys, imported toys feels off also. Also, I'm not too much of a fan of ball joints. But like I said, I love current toys. The sculpts are very cool and look more like works of art. Retro toys will always hold a place in my heart for the fact that they'll spark nostalgic memories.

that is something the bothers me today too many young kids are geting into tech alittle too early and spam forums for fun and upset people(not unlike how they too the same thing to big borthers and sisters) and learns how to hack games and other programs makeing more trobble for people just for kicks

ha ha ha:) All good points by you 3:)

Another area I do not like much is children of today do not go and play outside, etc.:) When I was younger we rode our bikes or walked everywhere and we were never home, but now children stay home or if they do go outside, they're on a laptop or a cell phone.

No kidding. I'm all for technology, but theres a time to cut the tech cord. Time to put up barriers on the technology.

Personally, I think toys turned to crap around 1991 / 1992 timeframe. The toys of the 1980's will, and always will be the best toys ever made.Today, toymakers are only concerned with making toys as cheaply as possible and selling them for as much money as possible. Toy designers in the 80's actually put alot of thought and effort into their toy designs. Today, it's all about money with toy designers.

toy design hasnt changed...toy designers made cheap stuff in the 80s too. you just didnt realize it cause you were too busy enjoying it...*cough gobots*

anyway the best toys qualitywise are from the 50s 60s and earlier. no questions asked

80's toys were made better and had less lead...

i noticed my sons MOTU figures (vintage type) were made in Taiwain not china....

maybe lead posioning is the price for cheaper goods from communists with a free market?

i wasnt thinking of any in particular, but toys in that time were made out of sturdier stuff it seems like
