I believe those are some of the earlier versions. I know major Bludd has a straight arm because I have him. Then they came out with the swivel arm.

Kayvee is partially right. Straight arm means the original 1982 release of the GI Joe figures that didn't have the swivel arm. From 1983 on, they had them. Major Bludd was just unique that way.
