Well for all you collectors of retro stuff theres some items in a very popular mall store called Hot Topic that might just peak your intrest. I work there so i get to see all these things come in and to most people who are regualrs in these stores you might have notcie the retro themed items we get. Well this week we got some shirts in that have already made me scream like a school girl at a Justin Timberlake concert. These items I am referring to are a Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers shirt, a Dark Wing Duck shirt, a Power Rangers shirt, and my favorite the classic NES game: Metroid shirt. It is my favorite simply because it says "Destroy the Mother Brain". That is good times. And of course we have had Transformers shirts in, but if you look close, we have some classic Transformers shirts in to. Now I am not saying these things because i work there and i want you to spend money, I just thought I would share the knowledge to people who might not go in that store, but now you have a good reason.

As a warning though: Not every Hot Topic carries the same items, so if you do not find it then I am realy sorry to waste your time in there. Either way though. Maybe you will get lucky.

    Anyway, peace.

thanks for the info but I must steer clear of the mall untill after the kids go back to school. I may be injured in a stampeed or something. But, soon the most lovely time of the year will come(back to school time) and I will once again reclaim my mall.:) ....and I will check it out.ty

I got my Contra shirt from Hot Topic... and that's all I need. I wonder if they'll ever carry cool shirts like that again. I wouldn't mind having a red shirt with the Game Over screen from Zelda II.

Hot Topic went through a stage where they sold a whole bunch of Nintendo-themed shirts - I have one with a Mario mushroom that simply reads "Game Over". Also have one with the NES Legend of Zelda logo that I love. I got my friend a Hot Topic shirt from Gabriel's that has an NES controller on it with the phrase "Play with me" written on the front. Hehehe.

I've seen fewer retro shirts there, though - the game shirts I saw when I was there last time I went were for Guitar Hero II, the Zelda game with four Wind-Waker style Links (forget the name), and one with an 8-bit Mario. If you don't mind wearing something that's already been worn, I suggest eBay - I usually see a few of these old-school Hot Topic shirts there for about a dollar.

Mario and Zelda shirts are so cliché. That's why they need shirts for stuff that isn't as mainstream.

the Zelda game with four Wind-Waker style Links (forget the name),

That was Four Swords on GameCube.

I thought Four Swords was on the gameboy advance?

anyhow, I got a shirt with a nintendo controller on it that says "KNOW YOUR ROOTS"

also a legend of zelda track jacket

Indeed there WAS a 4Swords on GBA, but that was the Multiplayer side-game.

4Swords ADVENTURE was on GameCube, which used Link to the Past graphics with WW Link sprites, which is weird.

I have a blue shirt with Mario holding a mushroom and a green hooded sweatshirt with young link. Then I also have a green hooded sweatshirt and t shirt with the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo.

I was at the Hot Topic today and I didn't see any of those shirts all they had were Power Rangers, Squirtle, and Barbie shirts.

like i said, not every Hot Topic has the same stuff. so that is probbaly why they didnt have those shirts at yours.

I try to avoid shopping for t-shirts at the mall especially at stores like hot topic, to avoid getting seen in public wearing the same shirt some 14 year old kid is rockin. I dunno, I love retro stuff but I guess fashion is somewhat of an originality thing to me, I don't wanna look like everyone else.

A few years ago, before they brought back TMNT and Transformers, you would've had to have an original T-shirt to be rockin it. It'd be one of those "wow, cool, I remember TMNT!" kind of things. When they bring stuff back though, its cliche cuz anyone can pick that up at hot topic now.

Thrift Stores and Ebay are where I get most of my t shirts and hats. Every once in a while I'll buy some limited edition clothes from some streetwear brands online. So when I see sombody in public rockin the same t-shirt as me, I'm thinkin "damn, where the hell did he find my shirt?" and not "damn, he shops at the mall too?!?!"
