    Metal Gear Solid:

Before you melee-fight Liquid Snake, he says that when Meryl takes her final breath, the bomb blows up

Then after you defeat Liquid, you find out Meryl's already dead

if she's already dead, what is the point of the bomb

Depends if you give in to the tourture, but the bomb just had timer on it and has nothing to do with her final breath

    If you give in -

You see Meryl tied up, you defeat Liquid, run over to Meryl and pick here up only to see her head flop back in your arms = she is dead.

If you beat the tourture -

Same as above, but when you pick her up she wakes up.

iirc giving into the torture is one step into getting the stealth suit.

In responce to the Zelda question: the guy who makes it answered the question himself just after doing the Four Swords game.
He said that there are many different paralell dimensions which explains the repeated quest of finding the princess and saving hyrule. the storys are:

Zelda 1 then Zelda 2 then Links awakening.
Link to the past was unrelated.
Ocarina of time was followed up by Majoras Mask and then Wind Waker (though wind waker was not Link)
The oracle of ages/seasons were simultanious paralell dimensions.
The four Swords games were stand alone but cuold be regarded as sequels to any of the above.

When you start an RPG after a long time without playing it, and you're already far into the game so the possibilities are endless. Then you have no idea where to go and you just have to keep going through the countless maps and such until you activate a story scene.

Whoa, huge bump. In any case.

I remember when I first played Ocarina of Time I could never for the life of me figure out how to progress in the Deku Tree (or whatever that old tree thing near the beginning is called). It turned out you had to light a stick on fire and then light some torches and I had no idea how anybody was supposed to figure that out. Now, of course, all the puzzles are extremely simple to me.

When I played Trials & Tribulations two years ago with my brother, neither of us could figure out how to progress in that case with Furio Tigre. After about an hour of guessing, we eventually just looked it up and it turned out you had to use the Magatama on Viola AND link her to the car accident, which seemed extremely simple in retrospect..

having to reset your sega genesis while playing x-men. this was so confusing, and as a kid when i got to it, it's a dead end, so i just shut off the game. years later i found out you have to hit reset to continue. i still have not completed the game, but it's on my replay list.
