*SOB* This topic makes me so sad! I loved Teddy Ruxpin to death, and my mother got rid of him, without my consent, one day while I was out! This is very similar to the mysterious disappearance of my Lamb Chop doll......

HAHA i was never scared of him..but i hardly ever got to play with mine cause my mom thougth id break it *rolls eyes*. Furbies are so much creapier! AHH...two of mine turned demonic on me...one has a glitch and wont stop sneezing!

That is funny you said that about the furby. That happened to one of mine because my sister left him in the car overnight. So we wrapped it up in a blanket and it stiopped doing it.

First of all, that's hilarious. I always used to swing mine around and make him dizzy. I also got him to say, "Here, kitty kitty!"

Second, another hilarious thing would be putting your own morbid tapes into Teddy Ruxpin. I didn't know you could do that!

I never understood why people were so afraid of Teddy Ruxpin. I had both him and Grubby when growing up. It was actually really cool because my mom would knit outfits for them for all the other holidays. We actually had his Santa outfit, and every christmas we'd dress him up in it so he could be part of the christmas displays.

Still everyone I meet is almost always deathly afraid of him. I have one I found in a thrift store for 4 bucks that NONE of my friends/roomates would touch when we were moving a few months back. One of my roomate's girlfriend finally had to take that box because they were too freaked out to touch it. (I was at work at the time)

Sadly the move ended up breaking his jaw, and I'm hoping I may be able to super glue it or something. His eyes are also not working, and I'm hoping there may be a way to fix that as well.

Right now he's on a shelf in my closet, because my friends and roomates wouldn't be able to come near my room otherwise. :P

Yep I had Grubby. Had sadly being the keyword.

I had alot of Teddy Ruxpin stuff I wish I never lost. Like the map of his world. It was this HUGE place matt kinda thing that was the entire map to his world. I kept it for so long till it finally got lost in a move.

I also had the toy of the Airship and figures of not only Teddy, but Grubby and the Professor (was that his name?) And The Grunge? Whatever Teddy's nemesis was called.

I also had something I bet most of you don't remember. You know those 3D viewers? The ones that are pure orange usually that you put this white wheel into that'll show you a sorta 3D image of some cartoon when you look through it? It had this big handle on the side to 'switch' panels of the white wheel.

Anyway, Teddy had this projector that was one of those except it would display the image on the wall. I remember having that with the tape, and not only would Teddy tell you the story, but you used the projector to see images from it at the same time.

Wish that hadn't gotten lost either.

A Viewmaster? I still have mine, I have Winnie The Pooh slides and some dinosaur ones, as well as some Disney Princess ones. I was big on those when I was a kid. They're still pretty cool. As for Teddy Ruxpin, all I had was the book with the story about the inventor, Grubby, Teddy, and some weird invention he made. On the other side of the tape there was this song that was like the Beach Boys, called "Surfin Grundo". My memory is so good when it comes to Teddy Ruxpin....

I remember one of the stories where Grubby fell in love with...something. I wanna say a caterpillar. I think she turned into a butterfly and flew away or something like that.

Also, there's one song I remember that had the word "syncopation" in it. I can't believe I still remember that...

I like a few people on here, can't believe so many people were/are afraid of him. :( I loved him a bunch as a kid and still do. :)
