    		 My Most Favorite Media Player is the QuickTime Player because it has a nice interface and it supports the standard formats such as .Mpeg1, .Mpeg4, Regular .Avi, .AIFF, .Mp3, .Wav, and .AAC Formats! My Second Favorite is Real One Player because it seems to play video files very smoothly, and My Third Favorite is WinAmp because it plays mp3 files better than any other player that ive ever used.

    So What is Everyone Elses Favorites in Order?

      		 Real player is spyware ridden as is WMP, Quicktime is good for playing its own media I have 2 programs that I use VLC media player and BS player VLC can play damn near everything and even plays corrupt video files.

        		 Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer/RealOne Player.

        QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt and other extensions) without having to install the official QuickTime Player. It also supports QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages.

        FFDSHOW is a DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 movies. It uses libavcodec from ffmpeg project for video decompression, postprocessing code from mplayer to enhance visual quality of low bitrate movies, and is based on original DirectShow filter from XviD, which is GPL'ed educational implementation of MPEG4 encoder.

        You should not need any other players or codecs for just about any type of video file.

          		 Not a fan of FFDShow, but I agree that Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative (both come with Media Player Classic) are all you need for video.

          I use Winamp for audio and AVI/MPG/WMV files, though.

            You Fool their is no spyware in Real One Player or in Windows Media Player youve probably just got a crappy computer that cannot handle those programs very well. You are obviously not very smart.

              Yes, when the software sucks - buy a more expensive computer.
