Soon the UPS man will come by and deliver my 5-packs of the first wave of 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe's

These sculpts are awesome, and there are more coming soon.

I suggest the 5 packs, since you get all the figures, plus a box with all the great Joe art we remember, AND a base stand that plays party of the G.I. Joe theme.

    You can order them here:

Also, I spotted new sigma six-type Joes on sale at my local walmart. They dropped Sigma Six, but are coming out with generic G.I. Joe figures of the same style and size. I picked up a nice Barbeque figure (now named Inferno for some reason). Gung-Ho was also on the shelf.

Yeah, I pre-ordered Flint. It's just kinda sucky that he's basically just a repaint of Duke. The rest look really awesome though.
            Where the hell is Zartan?

Zartan will come at some point, that's for sure. Pre-orders for wave 2 state that the next wave will consist of Beachhead, Buzzer (a Drednok that isn't Zartan?!), Serpentor, Cobra Trooper, and Lady Jaye.

Yeah, I was just looking at the back of Flint's card on yojoe.com, and you can see the faint outline of Zartan on the bottom row.
He's the last one on the bottom right. That's definitely his outline from the old package art. I have no Idea who the others are on that bottom row, though.

looks like Shipwreck, Cobra soldier, person with bow?, & Firefly.

and why couldn't they use the original 80's mold?

Good God am I happy it's not another re-paint of the old molds.

Many of the original molds were given to Funskool in India to make figures over there, the company went down a couple of years ago and I believe the molds are available... but I would hate to see Hasbro come out with more re-paints.

I'm incredibly happy to see this line of figures and not ANOTHER tired repaint line. What I really like is that all they did is update the physical forms of the characters, the memorable clothing and weapons of the original release in the 80's are still used.

I can't wait to see where this could possibly lead. At first the 25th anniversary line was isolated to the 10 initial figures. With fan reaction so overwhelmingly positive, Hasbro has gotten the hint that they'd love to see more of their favorite characters updated in this way. Vehicles will surely follow, but with prices of the new Joe vehicles so high I will probably skip those.

Yeah, it's definitely awesome, I just wish they'd go all out and give us original molds of every character. I know they said something about time constraints or budget crap, but I feel kinda ripped off on a few of the figures. Like I said before, Flint is just a repaint of Duke with a new head. And since it's Duke's body, they had to create those huge awkward looking suspenders for Flint. That sucks. My favorite character gets the shaft.
The second version of Snake Eyes(Visor & wolf), is just a re-tooled version of the first Snake Eyes. They Just added a new head & grenade belt. instead of having those cool ankle wraps, he's got the same combat boots as the first mold. Definitely dropped the ball on this one.
I'm still looking forward to getting a few of these, I just wish they had spent a little more time on all of them, instead of repainting existing figures.

I was checking out those shadows on the 3rd row again. I think you're right about most of them. It looks like from left to right: Firefly, ????, Stalker, Shipwreck, Zartan.

Sounds like a pretty good lineup. Even ole ???? with his bow and arrow.

I guess I just prefer the 80's classics...But that's just me. If you enjoy these, then by all means, have at it.

I just hate re-issues. If you want the old figures, buy the old figures. I still buy original figures to add to my collection, in fact I'm currently bidding on 4 different figures on eBay (this time Zartan will be mine!).

But if Hasbro is going to release something new, then I want it to be new. I didn't like how Hasbro decided to release re-issues of G1 transformers, I feel it cheapens the original release of the toys. They have zero worth to collectors, as they will never go up in value. It serves purely for a quick nostalgic fix for people who don't have the time or money to buy an original.

The new Transformers Classics collection shows the new direction hasbro is going, along with the 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe figures, where they take old characters and update them while keeping their original 80's feel. I hear that the next wave of Classics will include Galvatron, I can't wait. And the official list of the next wave of 25th Anniversary joes are Serpentor, Beachhead, Lady Jaye, Buzzer, and Cobra Trooper. Also, look for 25th anniversary joes in upcoming comic-packs.

**EDIT** I got word that 25th Anniversary Joes have been spotted in single-packs at Walmart.

                                Yes, re-issues suck.
I'll definitely be sticking to the older line; I can't live with these revamped versions either.

You know what they remind me of? Toybiz Spider-man molds.
