System 9 years 10 months ago Posts: 74809	I know these two cartoons qualify as retro...since both debuted in the early 60's. They were always playing on some channel or another on cable during 80's saturday mornings, still are on Cartoon Network. So who's your favorite??? Mine is Flintstones hands down, the Jetsons however I turn off when I hear the theme music.

System 9 years 10 months ago Posts: 74809	As I haven't seen either for a while, it's kinda hard to say. However, I do believe I'll go with the Flintstones too. Driving a foot powered car has got to be harder than flying joy stick controled space car thing.

SSJ Jup81 9 years 10 months ago Posts: 4806	Hmm, as a kid I enjoyed both shows, but since I've grown older, I like the Flinstones more, so I guess my vote goes to the Flinstones. But I will say this, 80s version of Jetsons > 60s version of Jetsons. The 60s version I grew to dislike as I got older since it struck me as a bit sexist, especially with George's "A woman's place is in the kitchen" attitude he seemed to have, and let's not forget that women can't drive. At least the 80s version was more realistic in that sense.

Kray 9 years 10 months ago Posts: 944	I liked the Flinstones better over all. George just seemed really lazy, but Astro and Elroy were cool. But the Flinstones had Dino, Barney, Bam Bam, and Wilma was a lot more interesting than Jane (Wilma's mother-in-law was pretty funny too).

I can't recall the ep where they got her, but never mind that, someone explain this to me (that's kinda off topic lol): Why does Carol Brady need a maid if she's a housewife? How can the Bradys afford a live-in maid, decent meat from the deli, six-kids with an allowance, a house [mortgage payments more than likely], utility bills, have three of the kids with braces, with only one-inocome of an architect who was making at the most, $200 a week? :p

I still felt that the 80s version of the Jetsons was better handled compared to the 60s version because of all of those "60s views".

Daniel85 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 1699	It has to be The Flintstones for me. My childhood best friend Brad and I went through a huge Flintstones phase. We used to play 'The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy' on NES for hours on end, stopping only to wolf down bowls of Fruity Pebbles. I do love the Jetsons as well, though. I remember totally FREAKING when I saw an ad for The Jetsons Movie in the 'Coming Attractions' at the start of one of my Hanna Barbera videos. A whole planet full of Orbity's people? Rock on!

True 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 391	I actually thought the Jetsons came out in the late 80's up until recently. I never had cable when I was younger so I think it was in th elate 80s was when I first started watching the Jetson. That was some dame good animation and color for something made in the 60s.

System 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 74809	yeah, i have to agree, i always liked the flintstones way more then the jetsons. im not really sure why but i did. and yes... i remember the jetsons meet the flintstones, i remember not really liking it though. darn jetsons defiling the flintstones
