Watched it on tape for the first time in about 18 years recently! All I could say after watching it was......"It's a funky Bali high!!!" For those that didn't see it or don't remember it, i guess i could best sum it up like this:

1 Part Weird Science + 1 Part Back to The Future...... Now add extra cheese and music by The Tubes (you remember them don't you....they sang "She's A Beauty";) and stir..............

Right you are, Captain N. Fisher Stevens is his name. He was also in Hackers....... In this movie he plays an Italian guy...... Go figure.

And like KrisK said, Dennis Hopper does make this movie great!

That Movie Rocks! Another good one I watched with this recently was "Real Genious" w/ Val Kilmer. If you don't remember it it's the movie that has the house that fills up with popcorn at the end :)
"YEAH YEAH!!!! THIS WAS THE HOLE THAT WAS FILLED WITH WATER WHERE WE HAD TO SAVE THE VIRGIN THAT WAS GETTING EATEN BY THE GIANT SNAKE!!!!"
            -"Dragnet" (1987)

I watched it again on dvd the other night. That movie did rock! The mutants from the apocalypse and t-rex in the gym scenes were still great. That was around the time period when plasma balls were big novelities at places like Spencer's. I've still got my huge globe, unlike the tiny ones being sold these days.

Cool! I'm glad y'all enjoyed it too. I haven't seen Real Genius in a long time but I remember the popcorn scene and I remember that it has "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" by Tears for Fears in the soundtrack. Man, I miss the 80s.........

this is the movie about a high school kid that is looking for a quick and easy science project to turn in to his hippie teacher (played by Dennis Hopper). like most students, he breaks into an abandoned military junkyard to search for one and after doing a little digging, stumbles across some classified "alien hardware" that in fact has time traveling properties. well, needless to say, the kid and his friends are in way over their heads when they accidentally shut the thing on. the past and the future begin to collide with the present, so they must now find a way to shut it off before the effects become permanent........................
