Man this was the greatest thing to ever come to a game counsel in my opinion. I remember waking up at about 7:30 just to play this, but then my brothers would kick me off :x besides that, it had lots of games to play and every month there would be changes with new games. We must have had this until the eulogy of the sega genesis (may it rest in piece). STILL IT WAS GREAT.

While I didn't have the Sega Channel, my brother had it for a while since he lived in what I understand to be one of the first test markets - Charlotte, NC. It was awesome!!! You could preview games which had not yet come out, and some of them were never released. There are ROMs around of some of the unreleased games which I remember playing on the Sega Channel.

Why hasn't any other gaming companies done anything similar since then?! Oh yeah, that's right, too much value for the money. Now they can make you pay the same price for one crappy game rather than being able to play it and tons of other games "online". Sega was very innovative. Remember they also came out with the first game console modem? And then there was the Saturn and more recently the Dreamcast. Unfortunately they were never able to market their wonderful products and services very effectively.

You know I actually know a person who can hook up your xbox/ playstation so that you can get every single nes/snes game ever made and you also get 20 games for 5 bucks each. Not as good as the sega channel or maybe it is I don't know but I still think its great even though its illegal.
