No one can really say anthing bad about the show, I mean, Rumiko Takahashi is a genuis for making a show THAT weird. I have been called gay and retarded because I will sometimes watch the non hentai or gory animes and just watch something like say. Love Hina or some other comedic romance stuff. One time I did almost vomit though. My friend downloaded me this movie(not knowing what it was). I myself had no idea what it was. An anime called gravitation. I went, meh, I will try it. I watched it for a while and realized something very quickly....WTF?! GAY ANIME!?. I met up with the people who insulted me and I went to their house with my bag of video games and anime(then I replaced all his la blue girl tapes with gravitation) I then gave the la blue girl tapes to my buddy who later watched it with his girlriend(I know it doesn't sound right, but it is true!) Getting back on topic, ranma is pure genius. Tell me what you think and who your fav character is.

They all kind of get tired after a while, but I would have to say Ranma. Mermaid Scar was really good, if you ever get a chance to see that.

And FYI - I'm a big Gravitation fan, and own lots of gay anime, thank-you-very-much.

You are also a female. That changes a lot you see. Girls dig the yaoi animes and I just don't understand why. However, I am not one of judgement. Let's put it this way, when it comes to manhood I am ranma before the freak accident. I am just that type of guy.

Ranma 1/2 has been one of my favorite anime shows since the late 90's at age 16, i had a huge crush on Shampoo since then including fantasies of her. I think the show is pure comedy gold.

Who else thought Shampoo was a big time babe?

Oh, he was one of THOSE anime fans. The douchebag heterosexual who only watches action and hentai, and considers any show or movie with gay characters or gender bending to be a "gay anime." Thank god he's gone.

I just finished watching the series a few weeks ago. I was surprised how much I was laughing, but it got very old after the 3rd season because they were milking it until the mangas were finished. Ranma Forever was pretty good.

I'll admit that I am a Ranma 1/2 fan.I found out about it around '98 and in Spanish (my parents couldn't live without their spanish channels on the C-BAND dishes back then). Not too long ago my youngest sister said that her friend had the first season and let me borrow it. I laughed at the Spanish dubbed, but saw myself laughing harder when I saw it in english....

Ranma 1/2 is good for the first 3 seasons. After that, its not as great. Its still a classic to me.

I discovered the series around 1995 or 96 when a college buddy introduced me to it. If I remember correctly VIZ used to publish 2 episodes per month so waiting for new episodes was a pain in the ass. It wasn't until 1998 thaat I got to watch the whole series in Spanish (thank Zod for satelite TV!). Truth be said, the lasr 20 episodes are pretty underwhelming.

Yeah, the 2 episodes a month on VHS was annoying as hell. I bought the first season in a box set. Also, the OAV's and movies were very well done. The animation quality was great.
