Ok guys, this is an open and semi-personal diary for us all! Post how your day was, or whatever is on your mind. Enjoy :) !

Dear Diary: I enjoy my new job (Preschool Teacher), but I feel like there are so many things that I still have to learn. I get frustrated and pissed because I feel as if they threw me into the class without going through a thorough orientation. I know that the best way to learn is through personal mishaps and experiences, but I at times find it to be unprofessional the way that they thrusted me in there :x ! I just can't stand unprofessionalism on any level no matter the job, uuuggh! Anywho, I am so ready to move, I am getting disgusted with the city minute by minute .

Its not the snot and what not, its just how they did me, but oh well. I think I'm about to dead this thread anyways, nobody seems to have things that they want to vent. Thanks for replying raw, and next time, if there is a next time, share what's bothering you, or what's not bothering you :) .

Hmmm, I was just looking up some art colleges on the net and when I was trying to get more information on some from the Art Institute they kept telling me that "I am not in a location that qualifies me to know more about this college." I live in North Dakota so you can see that I'm not really very close to any large colleges let alone ones that deal with animation majors. The only ones I could get information on were Chicago and Schaumburg. They sound like great places an all, but I'd like to have some more options dangit!!! Seriously what the hell is up with that?! ... I'm upset...

try entering a location nearer to the college, just so you can get some info about it.
there's no reason why you should be forbidden from learning about a school just because you dont live near it.

Well that would require other zip codes as well and I don't care enough to try that hard, plus they send it in the mail so it wouldn't get to me anyway if I put in a different one. I just ended up going to another site and found better search engines. But I'm still mad about it though.

i guess a lot of people don't like to vent so i guess i'll think of something to vent about. I don't know, i might have nothing to vent about. I used to vent, but people normally don't like to be the listener of venting, they always call it complaining or talking sh*t. So I usually just keep the things that are bothering me bottled up on the inside and that's probably why my soul is so gassy. So I guess I'll vent on not being a venter, or maybe I'll just punch a pillow... but I'm at work and there aren't any pillows available. I could punch a fellow worker, but that would get me in trouble or my ass kicked. Maybe I'll just write my vents on the "Dear Diary Thread."
                  Ahhh... much better.

Dear Diary I was sitting here trying to understand the "scene" that is big with todays youth known as "Emo" and this is what I have concluded

I pray that soon the people will realize that the "scene" has become homogeneous. It's full of 14 year old girls with uneven bangs, black and white striped shirts, and tattered low-top black Chuck Taylors, who swoon over homosexual kissing and pathetic whiny lyrics and overuse the symbols.

Their favorite quote is, invariably, "The truth is you could slit my throat and with my one last gasping breath I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt" because it like, so totally describes their relationship with that one HAWT sophomore who totally ripped their hearts out when they were like, SO in love with him.

Their favorite type of music is, of course, "emo, screamo, and hardcore", three terms which, in their minds, invariably include the bands Taking Back Sunday, Thrice, and Hawthorne Heights.

Their AIM screennames often include x's, the words "electrikk", "disaster", aRe wRiTtEn lIkE tHis or.maybe.this.way, **** or some play on their favorite song from their favorite band, you know, the one they saw on MTV like a couple times, but shouldn't be on MTV because they're like, way too emo for that.

They take hundreds of black and white pictures with way too much contrast of themselves looking plaintively down at the ground, pointing a gun made of their fingers at their heads, or kissing the camera while displaying their expert application of lip gloss around their labret piercing and the thick dark eyeliner that circles their eyes.

They embrace the "dork" that is inside their polished, fashionable exteriors by writing in their LiveJournals or Xangas about how they and their friends had an 'N Sync sing-a-long at one of their sleepovers because, remember, 'N Sync is soooo not popular anymore and they like, sooo wouldn't follow any of the fads of today, so they embrace the fads of yesterday.

They adore "retro fashion", meaning anything from the 80's, because they totally used to wear neon colors and big beaded bracelets, even though they were born in, at the earliest, 1988 and remember jack shit about the fashion and culture of the 80's.

It's full of "emo boys" who often are difficult to differentiate from "emo girls", who have meaningless tattoos even though they're 15, smoke a lot of cigarettes, drink a lot of cheerleader beer, and are in some shitty band that plays a couple of gigs in someone's basement because they're "too cool to go mainstream" when really, they just suck.

They weigh roughly 90 pounds, wear girls' jeans that hug their asses in just the right places, belts buckled somewhere around the side of their right leg, tight striped 80's style polo shirts or band t-shirts, and skater shoes, even though they don't skate because that's soooo lame.

They write awful poetry about the dark abyss of their souls and how the gun is pointed at their heads, the trigger poised to blast away the bloody memories of a failed romance. They cried when Blink-182 broke up, and they have a secret obsession with Avril Lavigne because, like, she really IS kinda hot even though her music totally sucks.

They spend more time at the mirror than their female counterparts do, making sure that the long black shock of hair at the front of their heads lies covering one eye just so, that their lip piercing is perfectly placed so that it looks hot when they kiss other boys, that their pants are the right degree of tightness so as not to exude gayness.

Emo boys and girls often use the suffix "Xcore" to describe themselves, using a number of adjectives or nouns to accomplish this task. This is a play off hardcore music, or "hXc". Some of these descriptive words include "fashionXcore", "retroXcore", or even "yournamehereXcore."

This way of speaking is retarded or nonsensical to everyone else except those "in the scene", but it totally doesn't matter because they're too nonconformistXcore for anyone to truly understand their "scene".

They couldn't name a Sunny Day Real Estate or Rites of Spring song if it came up and bit them on their Gap Jeans-clad asses, and they claim to like the Smiths because Jesse Lacey of Brand New said they were cool.

Sure, they listen to some new "emoXcore" bands, but they're all pretty much the same five bands:
                    1. Taking Back Sunday
                    2. Senses Fail
                    3. Thrice
                    4. Hawthorne Heights
                    5. Story of the Year
To these promising young firecrackers, music takes a backseat to fashion in their scene of choice.

Emo girls just want to kiss emo boys, emo boys just want to kiss other emo boys, and they all want to wear tight pants and take lots of pictures of themselves. End of story

Hey, Dieyuppiescum, what is an example of Emo music on the radio today, 'cause at times I've heard people talk about it , mockingly, but they're always talking about bands I never heard. I even encorporated it at work because our machines here all have big red buttons with EMO written on them (short for emergency off) and I normally say, "Hey if you're ever board and want to listen to some sappy Blink 182, then push this button," this normally goes over everybody's head, but is Blink 182 considered Emo, is that what Emo is? Bands that sound like Blink 182.

No, Blink is more pussy punk then anything else, but before Emo became really big (the past 4 years) kids that are emo NOW listened to Blink... good examples of emo are My Chemical romance or Taking Back sunday... Basicly whiney music about failed love and how everyone must pay attention to their sorrow and how they must cut to feel any relief and how no one understands them and their lives are a deep dark abyss... Emo is a kind of music the world can do without.

Oh, My Chemical Romance, I've heard of them, they got that video that takes place at a funeral, yeah, they suck. I haven't heard of the other band though. I remember about two years ago, a group of guys here talking about how much they thought that emo music sucked, so I asked, "What's emo," and they told me the closest thing I'd probably heard to emo was Blink 182. So I figuered emo was the new name for "pop-punk" but it is in fact quite different. I don't think the emo scene has hit here in Austin yet. We have a live music venue/bar here called Emo's, but they have punk, metal and experimental bands playing there, and, for all I know, probably some non-commercial emo acts too. However, I don't think the name of the bar and the name of the "movement" are related. Besides, its been here since the late '70's.

Thanks everyone for stopping by this thread. You don't necessarily have to just vent, but you can talk about the good going on in your life as well  ! Mattnash, I agree with you, people don't like to hear you(generally speaking) vent because its known as complaining, but we all have something going on that pisses us off to the extreme. Holding it in is like holding in a fart, bum, feelings for someone.....you get mad, frustrated, and liable to chew someone's head off who doesn't deserve it. But, feel free to talk about what you want :D ! Anywho, I'm hoping that I'll still have job offers coming to me by the time I move, because they were but I turned them down because I figured my current job would not only look good on my resume but I could save some money for my move as well.

Why the hell are some men and women (but moreso men) too afraid to committ? If you have a great woman/man, you've been to hell and back, what's the problem? Oh another thing...for those who stay in Metro areas with subways, why the hell do some people feel like they can squeeze their asses into the little bit of space left on a packed train, knowing that there is another train right behind that one :x . My motto is if you're late, then what difference does it make  ! On top of that, if you know that you stink, why they hell are you going to fan that funk all over the place . And why the hell do "non-english" speaking people always say that they do not speak english, but the minute I turn the corner their butts are speaking what....ENGLISH! What the :?:?:?:? ?

I'm deciding to keep the diary alive!!! So here I go, venting away, venting away.... gonna vent now. I'm thinking how good it is to be in a world where aircondition and modern conviences are the norm, that the air is still breathable (for now), that I don't have to worry about being shot everytime I leave the house, that I have something to eat today, that I don't have to worship your god if I don't want to, that I can say whatever I want about the leader of the country (except threaten him) and he can't do a damn thing about it. But I know that I am spoiled because of all of these things...
