Splatterhouse 3 (also on Genesis) - Jennifer's image appears as Rick falls to his demise. That really creeps me out to this day. ops: ops: ops:

Wind Adept 4 years 8 months ago Posts: 1138 Account Disabled	There was this game I had on cd when we had a windows 95, it was called rescue rover, it was 8-bit, the game had an overhead camera like the first zelda game,the plot is that your dog rover gets kidnapped by robots, and the object was to get throught the puzzles, get to your dog rover, and make it back to the entrance of the level with rover, however, I was scared to make a wrong move because when you did you would hear a loud sound come out of your computer, along with the picture of the character with a hole through his stomach with smoke coming from the hole, and the traumitized look on the character's face looking at the hole. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQUwMZqbcnI pause it at 2:08 to see the tiny death screen I was talking about. (the traumitized expression is on his face if you don't press anything for a couple seconds, unlike this player, who hit something immediately after dying)

knuclear200x 4 years 8 months ago Posts: 5947 Account Disabled	I remmber this pac-man clone called Disc-man, you werent really a disc blablabla so there was this level that was run by sharks instead of ghosts. one version, if u touched them youd implode. the other version i played featured some puffy character, and touching the sharks would result in them goring your face as blood splatters out. I wasnt scared, i just thought it was pretty cool

DemoniusX2 4 years 7 months ago Posts: 45	Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves (NES) - The only game with 2 game over screens, Game over when you die and the 2nd game over screen which is creepy, Shows a Sword and skull on the ground in the moon light while the words "game over" are on the top left of the screen. I find it eerie..even though the music is soothing and sad. Robocop (NES) - call me weird,don't care. The TUNE is what makes this G\O screen scary. That's all. Best game over music? Batman on the NES,I can jam that all day, it's really good. EDIT: founds some links on YT of the ones I mentioned. Sorry, the one from Friday the 13th is supposed to say "YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS ARE DEAD," not "ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS HAVE DIED," which is just a hypothesis of mine. There was also another Game Over screen in that game that said "JASON WIPED OUT THE CHILDREN". Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention the G.O. from Rule of Rose: It features a verse about a little girl who was as beautiful as a princess, she finds her grave, and it's the day after her funeral. The voice saying the line "And they lived happily ever after' kinda creeped me out.

In the US, where it's called Zombies Ate My Neighbors, the goo in the SNES version is purple. Just check it out on Youtube, as uploaded by GameOverContinue. But in the Genesis (or Mega Drive as it's called outside of North America) version, it's red which makes it look like blood! Sadly, the Game Over screen from the Genesis/Mega Drive version is not on YT.

trae215 4 years 6 months ago Posts: 37 Account Disabled	Either I never paid attention to Game Over screens enough to be "scared" of them, or I just had a different perception on what makes things scary as a kid, but either way, I was never scared of a Game Over screen. The Ninja Gaiden arcade Game Over screen was my favorite Game Over screen of all time though. I used to love seeing that and counting it down to 1 then pressing start to save his ass just in the nic of time.
