I was never really bugged too much by em, but a few things did make me uneasy.....
- That underwater near-death music in the early Sonic Games, god I hated that noise called music, it was like the jaws theme on crack.
- The Gannon Screen WAS a little creepy the first time I saw it
- The scene in Dragon Warrior I for NES when you join the Dragonlord to rule over the kingdom rather than fight him to win the game (SPOILER ALERT***) - The whole screen turns shades of red, the game locks up, and the music continues to play.
However, none seem to give me a slight feeling of chills more than playing videogames alone at night (or with someone who's become half asleep), and what system, the Atari 2600, and what game(s).....ALL of the pre 1979-1980ish titles.
You know the kind, large square screen, one color characters, 2 large boxes that are supposed to be Zeroes at the top of the screen (Combat, Indy 500, Air-Sea Battle, etc...), and after 21 minutes are up, the game just abruptly stops and the screen changes color....either that or Adventure when you are eaten by a dragon in level 3, then another comes along, eats you through the other dragon's stomach, then the last one comes along to finish the job, only to be picked up by the bat and dragged around the place. They tend to effect me more late at night when all is quiet and my opponent, if I have one, is so tired they seem non-existant outside of just being there.
