mista jinx 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 16	Now that i have kids im constantley watching nickelodeon and i know im gonna get a ton of hate for this, but i dont think the new nick shows are that bad. i found an old vhs of 6 episodes of you cant do that on telivision and i thought it was so great as a kid, and i still do for the nostalgic value but my kids thought it was crap. i see the newer shows like all that and amanda show and i think they are funny and even better than the early nick shows. Back in the day we had Mr Wizards world and a bunch of crap from canada and japanese animation, plus a bunch of reruns from shows like dennis the menace. i think the new shows like spongebob and fairly oddparents are hilarious and dont really mind watching with my kids. stuff like Zoe 101, unfabulous, and neds declassified are just updated versions of shows like hey dude, salute your shorts, and welcome freshman. i loved the old nick for what it was, but i dont think the new stuff is that bad at all. in fact the people writing this stuff are probably like my age and grew up on the old school stuff too, and i think you can totally see that in the humor of some of these shows. id love to see the classic nick line up again though just for the memories

Now that they've spit into so many channels on digital cable they've really sold themself short. I miss the NICKTOONS, I miss shows that didn't make me feel like strangling someone.

TMNT 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 5193	I think Classic Nick is more better they had The Ren and Stimpy show Rugrats and other Classic nicks. like that and the new nick have Drake and josh Zoey 101 and other new show for Nick But I don`t think they are bad at all. My little sister Does not like the old Nick cartoon show they had she like the New Nick. I don`t know why but she does not like the old cartoon show at all. that make me sad

80sChildNostalgic 9 years 2 months ago Posts: 134	I think the old days of Nickelodeon (80's and early 90's) were way way better. The channel had such a wide variety of shows and they all had substance, and most of them served the purpose of educating and entertaining at the same time. There were so many great shows, like You Can't Do That On Television, Mr. Wizard's World, Out of Control, Danger Mouse, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Spartakus & The Sun Beneath the Sea, Today's Special, Special Delivery, Adventures of the Little Koala, Count Duckula, Pinwheel, Double Dare, oh I can go on and on. My nephew watches Nickelodeon sometimes when he comes over here and I just cannot believe how incredibly pointless the shows are. At least the cartooons back in the old days had intelligent plots (Mysterious Cities of Gold and Spartakus are two big examples of this). This is all just my opinion, though. I'm not trying to dog on anyone

Classic Nickelodeon had some of the best shows of all time, like Salute Your Shorts (We run, we jump, we swim and play, we row and go on trips, but the thing that lasts forever....) and Danger Mouse. Two weeks ago, I bought the complete first and second season of Danger Mouse on DVD for Nostalgic Reasons. What ever happened to shows that have educational value?? Sure, action and adventure are a must, but the way I was raised, shows had to have some sort of moral or message behind "today's episode". like it's not nice to tease others because they may be different from you; Good, Bad or Indifferent. As for the Nicktoons, they're okay and if you have Digital Cable or Satellite, you can catch all the classic Nicktoons shows on Nicktoons TV. My favorite has to be Doug, the first three or four seasons of Rugrats and Invader ZIM to name a few (ZIM being the most current).

Nearly every show is either a modified version of All That, Ren & Stimpy, or Welcome Freshmen. And The Amanda show, to be fair, is one of the funniest things ever in history. But I can't even watch it anymore after seeing what Amanda Bynes has done with her career. It's just so sad.

The writers from All That and one of the greatest comedic actresses of our time, on one sketch comedy show! It was like having Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Jack Handy and Al Franken write for Ruth Buzzy! You people is crazy, I tells ya! To put it simply, I enjoyed that show a great deal.

I dont consider All That, Amanda Show, and Ren and Stimpy old school cause i was like 15 when those shows came out, im going back to like Cant do that on tv, mr wizard, out of control, like the early years of nick, thats what i gre up on. i remmeber at 8 at night after danger mouse they had this promo spiot that aired with images of all the shows and it said good night and there was no nick at nite so right after 8 nickelodeon turned into A&E channel.
