Ha! I remember the hot-dogs spinning when I would walk in with my mom. And at P&C, there would be one coin-op arcade game that I would continualy watch and beg my mom for a quarter!

I have a facebook group dedicated to Zayre stores. If you have a facebook account log on and go search for "Zayre Stores Appreciation" group.

Yeah they were one of the stores we just about always went to when I was a kid. Such a sin they went under too because as I said in a thread about Ames it'd be nice to have something other than wal-mart and k-mart for cheap stuff.

I have alot of memories of Hills like when big toy display when you come in like Star Trek, Mego Superheroes and others. I remember my mom bought me a green smurf from there. To this day I still got North Pass Hikers I wore for high school in the Wintertime in 1990.

does anyone remember the old hills store christmas commercials with the elves or elfs whatever they are if anyone has any recorded please let me know "According to legend, little folk know, Hills is where the toys are."
I know that is was ages ago since you posted this, but I just stumbled upon Retro Junk today and noticed your message.
Hills in Middle Tennessee always had great arcade games and console demo stations. I vividly remember playing Atari 2600, ColecoVision, TI-99, Sega Master System, and NES there!
