I wore Alonzo Mourning's Charlotte Hornets #33, for no reason other than that I liked the Hornets' colours, and I liked his name.

This will mean nothing to non-Australians, but I also wore Gary Ablett's #5 on my football guernsey. Gary Ablett was like the Michael Jordan of Australian sport. The greatest football player who ever lived. I was lucky enough that my childhood coincided with the prime of his career, and also that I lived in the town of the team he played for.

    Magnificent.

I wore #21 whenever I could for my favorite b-ball player of all time, Dominique Wilkins. Yes, I agree Jordan was better, but Wilkins was the most fun to watch. I even wore a replica jersey of his, but wasn't cool enough to pull it off as a kid.

#34 Charles Barkley when he played for the Phoenix Suns. I had the black jersey because I thought it was the hottest looking jersey in the league.

#11 Isaiah Thomas and Mark Messier.
#30 ... I just got issued that number all the time in basketball.
#24 Bob Probert, the toughest guy in hockey back in the 90s. I had a replica jersey right when he got traded to the Blackhawks.
#27 Jeremy Roenick, then with the Chicago Blackhawks was my favorite player in high school, so I wore his number.
#88 Eric Lindros. I was a huge fan before injuries got him, so I wore his number in college.

#23-Michael Jordan. I still have the jersey too. There's no way I'm letting that one go, regardless of how small it is now, it's still a collector's item.

                  #23 Kirk Gibson for baseball

then I wore #13 because my brother was born on the 13th. It was my basketball number in highschool, and sure enough, it's my brother's basketball number now at the same highschool.

Coming from Chicago and growing up during the 6 Championships, I wore everything #23 Micheal Jordan.

I always wore #35 because of "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas. He was my hero back in the day. I know injuries have slowed him down now, but back in the 90s he was one of the best if not the best hitters in baseball.
