    I loved the pinball animation.

Who doesn't remember the Pointer Sisters pinball song?! :)

That, and those aliens who talked like "yip yip yip yip yip..."

And who could forget the Count - One little bat!!! HAHAHAHA!!

I also remember when Mr. Hooper died. This was alot of kids first expierence with someone dying. It was mine...

Grover, and the little black kid with the afro.

Oh, and the Sesame Street techno song, in the early 90's....

Oh those aliens that went "Yup yup yup...uh huh uh huh uh huh"....those guys rocked so hard. I'll tease my dorm mates if we suddenly start doing that on our own.

There were some music segments I loved, like "Down Below the Street" (that was so catchy!), "Letter B" (sung like the Beatles' Let It Be) which I think was sung by a Beatle, no less, if my memory serves me right. There was another Beatles song, a bunch of dogs sang that one "I get by with a little help from my friends..."

Ernie and Bert were okay, I think my favorite was when Bert was trying to give his nephew a bath and Ernie throws all these toys into the tub. Bert says he can't give a bath with all those toys in ther, so Ernie just hops right in instead.

      I still love the Count....shaddup. He's mine.

Didn't Guy Smiley do some game show or something? I remember being freaked out by him and his teeth, and how far back his head would go when he opened his mouth.
These aren't my rules. Come to think of it, I don't have any rules.

This is a great thread. I actually found it by Googling "Cookie Monster's nightmare".

I read all of the responses and there are some great ones mentioned that I've been lucky enough to find on YouTube, and some that I am dying to see.

        A few that weren't mentioned:

-Family shearing sheep, then spinning the wool and knitting sweaters.

-Girl making cookies with her grandmother to take to her great-grandmother's nursing home.

-The Ernie and Bert sketch where Ernie makes the list in chocolate pudding!

-A live-action where the family loses their dog, and they have fliers printed up on this old printing machine and they show how the letters are lined up and inked. (I'm fairly sure there's a newer version where the family prints up fliers on a computer.)

I actually have a list of clips I'd love to see, because these old sketches randomly pop into my head.

        Cheers,
        Bellassett

Slight correction. It was just peanut butter and no jelly.

I remember being the youngest of 4 and the only one to really benefit from Sesame Street as I was young enough when it first started. My siblings would act all proud when I figured out which of the things were not like the other.

I also recall that PBS would play SS for hours and hours at a time, and I had spent the whole of a Sat. morning watching it, never realizing that I was missing all of my favorite Saturday Morning cartoons. it was my first lesson in time....while I was watching Semsame Street, all of my other shows were playing on a different channel. I had no clue of this phenomenon, and thought that once Semsame Street was over, I could simply change channels and watch all of my other shows.

It was a bummer of a lesson to learn.

I found this is the most popular segment of all of "Sesame St." was Stevie Wonder performing "Superstition" live on that show. This was taken from the LP "Talking Book" in 1973.
