Wondering if anyone knows the name of the skit on Sesame Street it was played in the 80's? I'll explain it as best as I can.

A bunch of kids were in like a dance class and a couple of guys were playing those drum thingys that you beat with your hand. I'm pretty sure all the kids were wearing white t-skirts and black pants. At the end of the class they thanked the drummers by singing/yelling a chant to them.
It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

You Tube is amazing at helping to bring back old memories...

I dont know if anyone remembers Ruth Buzzie being on the show when they built the additional places including the hotel and the park...she owned a kind of thrift store..Im not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet.

I used to watch the "Do the rubber duck" skit a million times over, even though it did have elmo in it

Then there was the skit with the girl going past all the doors with different letters on it and shed open different doors...

I hate how Maria owns a computer store now instead of a general fix store where they always had to fix toasters and televisions.

My favorite Sesame street movie has to be "Follow that Bird" since it had all the old characters and most of the monsters in it.

HA! I remember that one. I remember "5, 6, 7, and HUH! HUH HUH! HUH HUH HUH HUH!"

And at the end of the sketch...in the most random of fashion, the kid informs us "when I grow up, I want to be a policeman."

I remember the Bert and Ernie Mummy thing too. Where the mummy would come alive only when Ernie was around and it would scare him and he'd be like, "BERT! BERT!" and it would stop moving when bert came by.

I also remember, "We all sing in the same song". I think thats what it was called good song. And I remember the segment where the girl would talk about her pony named Strawberry and another one where an african boy was making bricks. I thought those segments were cool b/c it taught about other cultures and stuff.

Plus I remember the Wubba Wubba song with Grover, The Simpsons, and I think Whoopi was there too. Thats probably my favorite sketch along with Teeny Little Super Guy. *Lisa*

I have been searching for the '123456789101112' mp3 for what seems like an age - Do you still have it? If you do could you mail it to me?

First of all, I miss Kermit the frog. I remember David who was one of the neighbors. I remember a deaf lady named Linda and Native American Lady name Buffy who had a baby boy named, Cody. That was the first time I really ever heard of child by that name but I hear it all the time including one of my step-grandsons. I remember the two funny martians. I also remember two creatures trying to pick fruit from a tree. One creature was called a geeful(not sure of spelling) and the other called a snarf. One had arms the were up in the air all the time and couldn't get them down. The other had really short arms or something.

Even though I'm not an Elmo hater that comment about him is funny.

anyway here's something else from the old days.

One of my favorate Sesame Street segments when I was little was when Bert and Ernie finds statues that look just like them. Whenever Bert would leave the shot, the Bert statue would come to life. Ernie would call Bert and tell him to look at the Bert statue, but he would not move with Bert around and Bert was telling Ernie that he was crazy. After Bert kept on leaving, the Bert statue would come to life. At the very end, Ernie told Bert to leave and then after Ernie left Bert, the Ernie statue came to life, and then Bert calls Ernie and that was the end of the segment.

                                    Anyone remember this segment?

Sesame Street sucked ever since Jim Henson died even though I stopped watching it after I turned 6, it just wasn't the same after that.

Sesame St. was great. I am glad I was able to experience the show in the early 80's. I think that's why I have a deep liking for muppets to this day.
