Crossing the street in Manhattan can be a lot like that, sometimes.

I'm sure that I remembered a sketch or a song from old school Sesame Street that involved the following:

the image I recall most is a 'sinister-looking' man with dark hair and very thin features/nose, and beady eyes. I'm sure he had a pencil-thin moustache. I believe it was very windy...could be wrong.

            ?

            Anyone?
Help settle a pint of beer bet for me!!!!
Or sign me up for 'the ward' if no one else recalls...

Okay, I admit I only read about the first page so if I'm repeting, sorry.

I don't have a great visual memory and when I was hanging out on the 'street I wa sonly a toddler. But what really caught my attention and feuled my emotions was the music. The groovy tunes that used to play. For any Phish fans out there, check out some of the older credits. Trey Anastasio hand a hand in a few of them.

Like the pinball song. I remember those colorful visuals, though. Oh yeah! And embarassing as it is to say, at the end credits, when the blue screen with the CHildren's Television Workshop id came on...the music they played behind it scared the bejesus out of me. I would cry if I were alone in a room when it came on, lol!

Those trippy 70's animations with the groovy music.

Also, I remember when they'd have a certain letter fly across the screen/hide in places/jump out from a pool while Jaws music is playing, etc.

I do remember something on SS scaring me though...it was like a parade of things coming by with some freaky music or something.

I've spent the last two days looking at Sesame Street skits on Youtube. Let's see...saw the lost boy one, the stickabutter-loafa bread-cartona milk one, and a few other old ones. Cool. Kinda makes me wish I was around in the 70s or that I had Noggin.

I found this clip from YouTube to the courtesy of Kris Starring called "CTW Surprise 1969". It has the ending to the first episode of "Sesame Street" along with various logos that doesn't really belong there including Paramount (Closet Killer), Metromedia Producers, Rankin/Bass, Hanna-Barbera (HB Red and Blue Box), Screen Gems ("S" from Hell), Wolper Productions and Four Star (Diamonds). After the funding credits the logo ends with the NET logo. Whew! That belongs there. Enjoy!

You mean "Follow that Bird!", where Big Bird goes into foster care with the Dodos, runs away from them, and travels all the way back to Sesame Street.

Was this mentioned in this thread? There was a skit in the 80's called "Family Food" which was a spoof on Family Feud. Richard Dawson played the host.

I remember that skit. Richard Dawson played the host like he does on "Family Feud" as well as a regular panelist on "Match Game" from 1973 until 1978 while he was still hosting the "Feud" until 1985. He also made a comeback in 1994 for one season. He played a dreaded game show host Damon Killian in "The Running Man" in 1987.

I found this one on YouTube is the segment that I remember since I was a kid was the alphabet shown in fireworks. I always love fireworks, but I haven't seen this in ages when it was on "Sesame St.". Here is the video.

                                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXs7HNpz-2Y

I like the sound at the end of the segment reminds me of Tinkerbell.
