I do. *singing* A-B-C-D East to west. Going on an Alphaquest.

my favorite was the letter P and the penguins singing "There's a pretty pink pig with a parachute."

Skippymallory, I too loved the Alphaquest song

Doorways up and down the hall
            wonder what's behind them all
            doors that lead to anywhere
            got to a-b-c what's there
            got to a-b-c-decide
            where's a door I haven't tried?
            a-b-c-d-east to west
            going on an alphaquest

Wish I could find a wav or mp3...

Ever watch Sesame Street recently? I saw a sketch on Elmo's World or something about a kid with down syndrome growing a plant.

oh, and that "A Count Of 10" thing? Compared to this, it's nothing. Don't watch if you're easily disturbed.
and yes, this WAS done by Jim Henson, during his "Experimental" phase.

Does anyone else remember this cartoon with a flying animal singing "Above it all" ? I feel like I'm the only one who does.

She was an alligator...with a beanie lol

                  Above it all
                  I love to fly
                  Above it all
                  There in the sky
                  The world's below
                  Above am I
                  I was above it all!

Below, some dudes out for a sail
                  Below those dudes
                  There swam a whale
                  Below the whale
                  A submarine
Below is not where I was seen

                  Above it all
                  I love to fly
                  Above it all
                  There in the sky
                  The world's below
                  Above am I
                  I was above it all

Then one day, I heard a sound
                  Came from above
                  Turned me around
                  To my surprise
                  I saw a dove
                  I was below
                  He was above

                  Above the dove
                  Clouds were in flight
                  Above the clouds
                  Sun shining bright
                  I asked the dove
                  "Is something wrong?"
                  "Oh, no," he said
                  "Just change your song."

                  Above it all
                  I love to fly
                  Below it, too
                  There in the sky
                  The world's below
                  Above my eye
                  Above-below it all!
                  (Above-below it all!)
At last I know it all
                  Above-below it all!

I remember a few years ago, A&E had a "Biography" of "Sesame Street" featuring some of the great moments in history and how it got started. Harry Smith (of CBS' "Early Show";) was the host. At the end, Oscar the Grouch made a guest appearence in the beginning and end where he was saying "'Biography' is brought to you today by the letters 'A' and 'E'. Now scram!". They also has clips from the show and even the very first episode where it made in claymation where it say episode "1". Does anybody have a copy of the opening to the very first show done in claymation? Let me know if you have it. Thanks!

Man, I loved Sesame Street back in the day. I just recently took a look at that video of the credits from 1992. All of these memories just kept coming back while watching it like the emblems at the end. I had forgotten about that Corporation of Public Broadcasting emblem and the PBS bumper at the end until I saw that. Man, PBS rocked in the '90s.

Sorry if I say this over and over again but I really like the "Body Dance" and "Dancing Feet" segments. There's also a video clip about a handful of sesame street characters appear in a live action scene along with the other humans and if I remember from that clip in the end, there is some guy's feet lying down, next to Ernie and Bert.

Anyone remember what other clips they remembered seeing?

I love Sesame Street. Especially the rap songs and other songs I liked. They gave me an er***tion. Here's a list of the songs I liked a lot.

Face Facts (Those two girls are so sexy, especially when they dance)

Not With Litter (Rap song with kids cleaning up trash in a park in a timelapse)

Toothpaste Factory Rap (How Do They Get The Toothpaste In The Tube?)

Box City Recyclin' Rap (Kids building things with boxes and stuff)

The number segments (These are what I really love: 13, 15, 17, 19)

                        Circles Rap

                        Cecile intro

Letter and shape segments (With kids dancing; C- Circle, S- Square and T- Triangle)

P- Party (With kids dancing, and one girl blowing out the candles)

                        At School

Happy Birthday (A woman's voice said it in a rap way with sexy sounds and rap-like music)

We Got the Power (Computer rap segment)

That's What's Best About Getting Dressed

                        Faces Rap

                        My New Computer

                        Body Dance

                        Take Care of That Smile

No Matter What (Kids chasing a big multi-colored ball)

That's the whole list. I really love those songs, I want video clips of them! And mp3s, too!

Alright, this is a very vague memory. Wish me luck.

Back in the early-mid '90s, Sesame Street had a show within the show starring Cookie Monster. It was very fancy and it looked like he was very rich in those segments. Anyone remember those? I'm trying to work on my PBS side of my '90s nostalgia by the way.

                                    WARNING: Long post!

I also remember "Hot in the City", which had kids in New York using various methods to cool off during the summertime, such as playing in a fire hydrant or rubbing their faces on a block of ice; this segment that showed kids playing on a giant computer doing all kinds of stuff; this segment from the 70's or 80's which had kids making sand castles at the beach, and one of them makes a plesiosaurus (a dinosaur with flippers), but the kid doing the voice-over has a hard time pronouncing the word; tennis player Michael Chang teaching Big Bird how to play tennis (And ending up tying his shoes in the process!); an overhead view of kids carrying paper plates or pieces of paper and bunching together to form letters, and then throwing said paper all over the place; a little animated mountain climber scaling a live-action boy and talking about his various body parts along the way (When the man reached the top, he jumped off of the boy, and the boy said, "Happy landings!";); this girl talking about her dog Puck (What kind of name is Puck, anyway?) and what she does to take good care of her; a segment about this Cuban girl having a family reunion and making fried bananas with her mother in the beginning; a segment that involved kids doing various exercises with this aerobics instructor; a segment from the 90's with kids taking care of a garden and playing with the hose to cool off at the end; and Placido Flamingo's All-Animal Orchestra (Zing, Zing, Hey!).

Aw man, now you got me started! :D

And does anyone remember this other SS segment which had kids playing in a park running around various structures (such as this bike rack-looking thing) to a rather somber-sounding tune?

Heh heh, I remember that, too!

They still air that occasionally on the newer SS episodes.

I don't think I know that segment. Still, I want (extremely) high quality videos and (extremely) high quality mp3s of the songs I listed.

LOL I loved the guy that grover drove nuts (in that one little segment where Grover was his waiter at a restaurant) that was known as "beady eyes and the big blue head" :D

Doorways up and down the hall
                                          wonder what's behind them all
                                          doors that lead to anywhere
                                          got to a-b-c what's there
                                          got to a-b-c-decide
                                          where's a door I haven't tried?
                                          a-b-c-d-east to west
                                          going on an alphaquest

Wish I could find a wav or mp3...

                                          Oh yes! Loved it! :D
