    I have to agree with that. When I was little, the choir was singing in the background and therefore I have to turn down the volume of my TV and/or - have to hide myself away from the TV set somewhere, like behind the couch! I wonder if you (or anyone) can provide me a screen cap of those things. If you have any, please kindly contribute to them asap.

              Howdy. I just found retrojunk.com 2 days ago and I have to say this is the best discussion topic I've ever seen..

              You have no idea what a spinout it is to realise there are other people out there who get nostalgic over Teeny weeny superguy, crayons, and singing typewriters.

              I also really loved those siamese-twin monsters who would argue in gibberish sometimes, or learn how to read a word as the 2 halfs of a word would sort of inch together then they'd always throw a party to celebrate learning the word 8)

              there was also a very cute stop-motion segment of these toy cats and a kitten doing something.

                I haven't read the entire post but anyone remember the segment of Near/Far? The puppet would run up to the screen and say "Near" and then run to the back of the room and say "Far". That's just about the only memory I have from the old episodes.

                    This was mentioned a couple of posts earlier. I think the character Maria played either Groucho Marx or Charlie Chaplin, but I don't really know.

                      I seem to remember a hand drawing a straight line and on that line, he'd draw a stickman and the stickman would walk along the line until he came to the edge and he'd look around, scratching his head and then the hand would come in and continue the line for the stickman.
                      was this real, or am I just making it up?
                      it used to be one of my favorites.

                              Oh yeah...I remember lots of stuff from when I used to watch Sesame Street.

                              Cookie Monster's "Healthy Foods" rap video.

                              The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 pinball thing, and just about every other animated segment that had to do with counting or saying the ABCs.

                              Those skits where Grover was the waiter and would always mess that guys orders up.

                              The "Telephone Rock".

                              Bert and Ernie exploring the Pyrimid with those two statues that look just like them.

                              When Grover is directing "Oklahoma!" and Forgetful Jones keeps messing up.

                              I remember some song they were singing about the word "no". I guess they were trying to teach kids that no means exactly what it sounds like...no.

                                  As for the clip, they have old episodes of "Sesame Street" on PBS Sprout, but you have to request it, as it's a new cable channel.

                                    You're right. It's been so many years since I've seen that. I wanted to say it was Kermit...but for some reason I kept thinking it was Grover. :)
