I believe this would be 'round about the days when the Pefect Strangers moved with their city sweethearts out of their apartments and into the country or whatever...that big house. Anyway, I remember there being a show that came on directly after it, I think. There may even have been some crossover eps. It didn't last too long. It was that kind of show that's about five or six friends and their day-to-day mishaps.

The only episode set-up I remember is where one of the characters answers the phone by saying his own name, finds out that it's his boss- or someone he doesn't want to talk to- then says: uhm...is not here right now but please leave a message at the beep. And then he says beep. During the episode, one of the characters is just learning how to use inline roller skates and is falling down and running into things a lot. At the end of the episode, everyone is trying to avoid answering the phone, because a certain someone-not-so-special is going to be calling. One of them doesn't know and answers the phone anyway (while in the kitchen). So that same guy from the beginning does his answering-machine thing, and the whole cast yells beep into the phone. The back door is open and the skatey guy goes by one more time and the credits roll. It's also possible that they all lived in a house on a boardwalk. I hate for this long a post to be so boring, but this has been bothering me since I was like eleven. Please help me.

This site has got a complete list of schedules that have been in the TGIF lineup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TGIF_(ABC) Hopefully it'll help. There are a couple of shows about groups of people living in one house.

I think I remember this show, but the show I'm thinking of was on Fox not TGIF.

The show I'm thinking of came on either before or after the show "Whoops" which was about a group of people who survived the nuclear explosion that destroyed the world, it was a comedy. And The Show I'm thinking of resembles your show you are talking about.

It was like six people or so who lived on a boardwalk on a beach. The only character's name that I remember was "Aldo" who I beleive was played by Costas Mandalor. I think that this is the show you are talking about. It was early 90's. I'll try to find the title of the show for you.

***UPDATE***: the show I'm talking about is called "Down the Shore", it was on the air from 1992-93 on FOX. And it was Louis Mandylor not Costas Mandylor, though they are brothers and look identical

Nope. Thanks, but I'm quite sure it was a TGIF show. The link that smwutches provided (thanks) gave me a lead on a show called Going Places. It starred Alan Ruck, Staci Keenan, Heather Locklear, and Rider Strong, and only lasted a handful of episodes. Can anybody verify that show as the one I described up top?

              I loved Going Places.

Random things I remember about the show:

One of the guys on the show, Jerry Levine, played Stiles in Teen Wolf.

Staci Keenan would later star in Step by Step.

Christopher Castile, the nerdy blond kid, would play the nerdy Mark Foster in Step by Step.

The lead adult male character is played by Alan Ruck, was Cameron Frye in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He would later star in the tv series, Spin City.

This show had a very Friends-like vibe to it. I liked it a lot, and was very disappointed when it was canceled.
