Shows like "Rugrats" have just gotten more and more dumbed down recently.

Spongebob is the only show that I will sit and watch on Nick.

Geez, I think that's the earliest anyone's ever even thought about Nick going downhill.

Maybe if I was a kid in the 90s I would also say 1999 like everyone else. I think Daniel BMS was the one who said there was idiots who was running Nick in it's golden age (Nick's golden age was the 90s right?)

It was in 1999 when many of the old shows went off the air.

Innovation, cleansingness. I bet when these kids grow older, they'll want Nickelodeon to show Jimmy Neutron, Zoey 101, Fairly Odd Parents, etc again and they'll rant about how Nickelodeon sucks, blah blah blah. I have neutral feelings about Nickelodeon on the other hand, I do miss the shows I used to watch when I was kid and I'd love to see them come back on air. That is why I think the Nickelodeon Classics channel should be created.

On the current Nickelodeon, I'm a huge fan of Drake and Josh so shoot me :P

Actually they should rerun their best quality old shows instead of rerunning random assorted shows. It's not just that we miss old Nickelodeon shows, Nickelodeon should learn how to age well.

Also I don't think kids will reminsince of the new Nickelodeon in the future. When Nickelodeon started to slack, guess who became popular in their place? Cartoon Network! Kids aren't going to say that shows like Jimmy Neutron kicked ass. The shows that will form the new golden age will be shows like Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends and Naruto.

Ever notice how thier is a black female character in Jimmy Neutron who is obsessed with music. That character grinds my guts. All of the other characters being cliched stereotypes makes the show a complete test of patience.

I'd say the exact moment Nickelodeon started to suck was when the Big Orange Couch was given away to some kid in 1999. :x:evil::cry::evil::x

I think they changed presidents around that time too. I mean Nickelodeon presidents. The transition to old and new shows were bad. they knocked too many old ones off quickly. Now anytime your turn on nick, its going to be one of 5 shows. (You'll guess what Im refering to)
It seems Cartoon Network also fell from grace, and around the same time. I give the year of suckness 1998, but thats when i really stoped watching tv. in 2002, though, adult swim gave it some life left.
and saturday morning cartoons, im not sure if non cable networks still have those. i assume they have fallen as well.

they do, and from what I've heard, it's fallen too.

I totally agree with the boy-crazy, melodramatic teen-scene crap...it's becoming too repetitive. However, like I said, its all about competiton and target audiences.

Sure, he was good at one point, but now he's voice acting has deteriorated since, I dunno, 2003-2004, and even before hand. and to be Honest, his high-pitched voices (SpongeBob and Jake Spider Monkey) really annoy me, even more so than Howie Mandell's voice of Skeeter (of Muppet Babies) and Bobby Generic (of Bobby's World)

Off Topic: I sure hope he doesn't voice any characters for the upcoming Warner Bros. remake of the ThunderCats. *shudders at the idea of Tom Kenney voicing Snarf.*

Nick's only good when they're showing retro stuff. Rugrats was good, but when they brought in Dill, I never used to watch it anymore.

Okay, i was born in 1992, so i'm in the middle of people who watched the golden years of Nickelodeon and the ones who watch Nick today. I became a loyal viewer when i was like 2 or 3 and i actually remember enjoying the shows back then. I will say Nick started to suck in 2000 when they replaced all their good shows with constent marathons of NickToons (however i do enjoy Spongbob Squarepants and Invader ZIM). But i think Nickelodeon itself turned for the worse when they closed down Nickelodeon Studios. A good deal of their live action shows and most of their game shows were filmed in or around that area. And what happened to slime? The only time i see them showing their passion for slime is in the Kids Choice Awards. Comon Nick, we're waiting for that Classic Nick Channel to start up.
