So far this year none of the other ones really targeted us but this one.. If this storm hits like this this area would be flooded severely (we are something like 15 to 16 foot below sea level) and who knows what else would happen with the severe winds...

System 9 years 3 months ago Posts: 74809	That damn hurricane better not be heading in this direction. I’m planning a trip to Houston, and if it’s raining bad between SA and Houston, the roads flood and it’s rough getting through. Hurricane better not ruin my birthday plans.

System 9 years 3 months ago Posts: 74809	Cyber, I feel you on the storms. I was born and bred in N.C., and loathed any hurricane that came our way! Well, I hope you're not going to ride this out, but if you do, make sure that you have a lot of water, non-perishable foods, batteries, etc, etc. Man, the last hurricane I remember was Fran, and we were without power for about a week in hot ass August. People had to get reimbursed money for the food in their freezers!

Cyber Bishop 9 years 3 months ago Posts: 2796	I am finally able to log on. we went with some friends of ours and are safe and sound in Alabama. We are about 35 miles north east of Birmingham in the foothills of the Appalacian mountains. Unfortunately we may not be able to return for a while. They say that they may allow us to go back on Monday to get personal items then we have to leave again. I wish I could get back to see what kind of damage we have.
