Everyone knows the best comic crossover of the early 90s was The Punisher Meets Archie. It symbolized the decline of the comic book industry, where major companies suddenly found their entire business strategies collapsing under their feet. Multiple covers, gimmicks and crossovers were only being purchased by collectors, in fewer and fewer numbers. Since then the market has stabelized, with newer and more origional heroes taking the stage, and more independant publishers and a wider variety of themes and titles. However, some of these wonderful gems still remain.
My friends, I have in my possession, this wonderful little gem. I have written an article about it before on my live journal. And, if you fine folks here would be interested, I could edit it, expand it, and make a semi-decent article out of it. I even have a scanner, so I could get some scenes for the site.
The Punisher VS Venom is the best crossover ever, no, no, I take that back. Joker Mask is the best crossover ever. Darkhorse and DC worked together and in the story the joker gets the Mask and causes even more hell for Batman almost drivining him to complete insanity! That was a real fun read.
Not one of the best scenes or panel drawings, but its the only image I could find. I think it would be cool if Frank Miller made a Joker Mask comic book and have it dark and mature and then make it into a movie.
that sounds so freakin awesome. i'll have to keep my eyes open for those comics. what i really want is the ninja turtles/savage dragon crossover comic. anyone read that?
I haven't read the actual Turtles/Savage Dragon one-shots, but I do have the two issues of TMNT Vol 3 where the Turtles go to Chicago and work with ol' finhead.
I've also got the Turtles/Flaming Carrot crossover. It's a really weird story about these energy creatures from inside the sun who eat souls or something. It should actually have been called a Turtles/Mysterymen crossover, cos it features the other Mysterymen just as much as Flaming Carrot.
