If anyone can tell my which movie the Line "I am not a number, I am a free man!" is from, I'd be grateful. Or maybe I've deluded myself into thinking the line is from a movie.

I first heard this line on the Number of the Beast album by Iron Maiden. Now I'm interested in watching the movie behind the line. Again, I'd be grateful if someone would help me.

You're thinking of that really old BBC show The Prisoner...

      http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/P/htmlP/prisonerthe/prisonerthe.htm

The guy said that the first episode when they took him to the island and assigned him a number. Unless they also said that in the spoof episode on The Simpsons.

Thanks! I'm a bit sad that its not a movie I can rent and watch. Well, atleast I can put that subject to rest. Thanks again.

Edit: I found the series on DVD on Amazon. Idea popped in my head shortly after I posted. I think I'm gonna look into this series. Sounds kind of interesting

The Prisoner was such an awesome show. When I was a kid I used to hate them, back when the Sci-Fi Channel played them all the time. Years later I watched them again and realized how great they were.

By the way JT, if you're really interested in seeing the show, they do have the whole series out on DVD now...(although I believe that it's in piecemeal 3-4 episode mini-sets. I hate it when they do that. I mean, I know that it was a short lived series and all, but come on, have some consideration for my wallet...).
I know you are, but what am I?

I'll look into that. I'm really interested in it now. I read up on it yesterday and since my birthday is coming up... I'll get it from my parents :D. I too hate it when DVDs come is sets of just a few episodes and not entire seasons or in the complete set but cost too much. Well, regardless, my parents should pay for it... (I turn 19 in September, but don't have enough money or responsibility to move out, handle a job, and go to school)
