I'ts funny, but I didn't investigate enough of the game to know when I *could* hunt for game. My group survived only on wild fruit and the meat I bought. I wasted a lot of cash on buying, like, 1800 rounds of ammo, and never used any!

I thought there'd be a section of the game where we'd be attacked by Natives or something, and the group would automatically defend itself (using the purchased ammunition). Anyways, still made it to Oregon with everyone intact

My favorite thing to do was name people in my party things like My Penis so it would say things like My Penis got bitten by a rattlesnake. That was hilarious in grade school.

You too? I loved doing that. I think I used to put "he was an asshole" on the gravestones.

I used to write dirty things on the tombstones. "Here lies Mystie, she died parking your boyfriend." and the likes.

I have Oregon Trail 2 and all 3 of the old skool carmen games, but I remember playing Oregon trail on those old skool Macs with the mouse with 1 button. Good times.

Oh yes. I played the original version too. A friend of mine had a newer version for windows a few years ago where you could choose your character and write in a journal, so we chose ours and included everyone we knew and wrote stories about them in the journal. I got sick 4 times, then finally died.

BTW, I'm a member of "I Tried to Ford the River But My Oxen Died!"

Why couldn't you have chevy'ed the river, or perhaps pontiac'ed it ?

Oh wow now I feel old..I remember playing old school Oregon Trail,Word Munchers, and some other sort of game (it had to do with an outer space game show of sorts..). OT rocks. I love that game. Nothing beats the original though. I used to have a newer verison where basically you chose 2 people in Independence to come with you. I always chose the Indian princess chick and the hillbilly chick. Sometimes I chose the guy who was a huge fucking know-it-all. Don't remember what his name was.

I remember playing Oregon Trail around Kindergarten to 2nd or 3rd grade.

                              Play Oregon Trail here.

I played it in elementary school and I had it at home. I also had the Amazon trail too. That was a long time ago. I feel old now.

That reminds me of a rainforest game where you have to create your own species, pick the habitat, and then see if it survives (cruel, ain't it?). I think they had that in middle school.

It also brings back memories of lighting cow chips.

Cow chips. The predecessor to Wow! Chips.

We used the WOW! chips to make the cow chips.
