My all time favorite horror movie is of course Halloween but since it came out in the 70's it dosen't count here.

If I had to pick one from the 80's it would have to be the very first Friday the 13th.That stalking music was great but what always got to me was when the shot would be seen from the eyes of the killer, like when the girl hitch hiking gets into the cab of the jeep.It almost made you feel like you were the killer some how.But the best scene for me was when the girl was out on the lake in the canoe and they're playing the happy music and you think every thing is ok.And than BAMN the rotten form of Jason jumps out of the lake to grab her.Well lets just say my parents had to fix the hole in the ceiling after I jumped off the sofa and my head hit it.

So what was your favorite? Was it a big budget one or what is it an unknown Bmovie that you found a the rental place one day?

The first two Nightmare on Elm Streets. Although I didn't watch them until I got much older, and so they didn't impact me much.

An American Werewolf in London is probably my favorite. The scene where the guy gets off the train in an empty subway, and then gets chased by the werewolf up through the escalator. It's scary because you don't see the werewolf until the guy gets whacked. That's how it should be in every horror flick.

My favorite is Childs play. It was the first horror movie I ever saw. I remember hearing about it Elementery school and how it wasn't very scary. I saw it on tv and agreed it wasn't very scary.
Narrator: Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality. But... there is, unseen by most, an underworld, a place that is just as real, but not as brightly lit... a Darkside

Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, I love Sam Raimi, he friken rules! Best director ever in my opinion. I hope that he'll bring out his Evil Dead beast in the 3rd Spider-Man movie, as we all seen him unleash a little of it in the second movie(when Doc Ock killed the doctors at the hospital).
For him to do that, Venom or the Lizard, or even Hobgoblin have to be in the 3rd movie, any of them 3 would take it to that Evil Dead level. :D

I would say that movie is probably one of the better horror films of the 80's. It's a favorite of mine, I like the idea of a horror movie actor trying to save the day.

Other than Fright Night my favorites are:

                        -Evil Dead 1 and 2
-Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and 3
                        -Friday the 13th 2,4, and 6

NOTHING tops Nightmare On Elm Street as a series!
I started watching these when I was 7, and I've been enjoying watching them over and over ever since.

                          How sweet, FRESH MEAT! :D

When I was a kid, it was all about Nightmare on Elm street and Wax Work.

I watched Wax work practically every day for a long time.

I haven't watched many but my favourite is An American Werewolf in London. I rented it last night and it was awesome! Much better than the '97 remake... it was kind of short though.

The Monster Squad was freakin' great. I don't know how many times my friends and I watched that. We even started our own Monster Squad and went out hunting for monsters. We were a bunch of tards.
