Good to se an sprite artist here. I'm a sprite ripper and I love to waste time on that.

My personal gallery is huge but this is a short probe of my work:

                  Example 1
                  Example 2

About spriting original (custom) shapes or characters. I have made some pixelart things.

You are welcome! Is a pleasure to me to save the history of videogames ripping them.

I wish to have a huge personal data base of sprites in the net. One day...

Your job was great but I prefer separated sprites. Sheets sux!

Well, I and every other sprite comicer use sheets because then we don't have to open half a dozen files for one comic.

The gamemakers also use sheets for memory purposes.

But separated sprites (gifs) can have more applications: websites, mail messages, MSN emoticons, avatars, signatures, board smilies and obviously, game making and sprite comic.

Actually, for the comics and game making, sheets are better. In fact, one way of ripping sprites is to hack into ROM data and looking for the sheet. I don't know how to do it, however.

That's no possible as I know. You can see the tiles using a tile editor but sprites are not organized in sheets. They are unorganized and some times spreaded in a bin file who contain them.

I'm not absolutelly sure but I think that for my experience editing Super Mario World.

                                  Probably the sprite-rip forums.

I use sheets to cut down on open windows when putting together a comic. Especially if said comic is very action oriented.
