Mickey Mouse. When I was at Disney Land he was evil shoving there, doing that there, and all that horrid stuff. I since then had a grudge against that character most likely the person in the suit.

I can remember two distict things that scared me. One was the movie Return of the Living Dead. I loved horror movies as a kid, but this one scared me because I lived next door to a cemetary. Now the second one, Im note sure how to explain. I was bought a stuffed clown when I was very young, had it for years. Then I saw poltergeist. That clown had to go. Im not afraid of clowns, just that clown. When I threw it out, I watched the trash collectors that morning to make sure the thing didn't jump out and come running back.

Actually there were a few things that scared the life out of me as a kid. One of them was having to get off the high dive when I took swimming lessons.

Another was hurricane season in Hawaii. During the early days of December, we'd have horrible down pours and loud thunder with huge lightning bolts... It scared the life of me at night right until I was about nine or ten.

I remember watching an episode of Tales From the Crypt about a boy seeing a vantrilliquist live and wanted to be like him. Years went by in the story and the boy was an adult and started out as a failing vantrilliquist. Later, we find out that the vantrilliquist he saw as a child is now retired and has an awful secret: His dummy wasn't actually a dummy, it was his psychotic conjoined twin, which was conjoined (if I recall correctly) where his hand was supposed to be! ...THAT scared the life out of me and I couldn't sleep for that entire night.

Then when I was fourteen, my mom, brother and I were at a gas station and a trucker decided to play a trick on me. while I was with my mom, waiting for our car to get filled up, the trucker drives his rig toward me, and when I moved to avoid him, he turned toward me and stopped after that. I swear, I saw my life flash before my eyes and I was pale for two, maybe three hours.

Yeah... the old EBS alerts were spooky. It was alwas on tv when I would hear them. Right in the middle of a good show, too! And the guy would start talking... and his voice was so scary-serious sounding it frightened me.

I was scared of t-storms/lightening. My parents told me I was scared of this suit of armor that was on display at a restaurant we would go to all the time.
One time when I was younger, my parents had a fight (verbal) and I was so scared I cried to my mom that I was afraid that they didn't love each other anymore!

I was always terrified of big dogs. Until I was five, I lived in a crowded neighborhood where there were always stray dogs wandering up in my yard. One day I was taking a walk around the block with my mom when these peoples' dogs all came running out and started fighting. It was so scary! I'm still kind of nervous around big dogs.

I remember being scared by the witch lady in the Earnest Scared Stupid movie who would turn kids into toy statues and place them in the base of a tree trunk.

Granted, colorbars are rare now since most stations are on all night-- the only place you can see them around here is on the PBS affiliate.
Not only does PBS show color bars (which i haven't seen in a long time on PBS), they also run there own emergency tests, with the same "Rrrrrnt" sound. They start out on a blue screen and a voice says something like "This is just a test, please stand by" and then the noises. I remember watching Arthur one time and the show was getting a little glitchy, and then color bars appeared and i went flying out of my room with my heart beating fast. They also showed and image of the early 90's PBS kids "Pink Blimp", which was the blimp with the pbs logo and a face floating overtop of the earth (this was a cartoon image) and a voice would say "We are experiencing technical difficulties. We appoligize for any inconvenience, please stand by". PBS is probably the glitchiest channel ever.

Do you mean the ones that are actually scary, or the "this is so cheesy it makes me want to do drugs" ones?

Me too!!! I got pushed off the high diving board when I was about 4 years old. What a way to teach a kid to swim!

Other things that scared the crap out of me were:

-The monster under the bed (only in my imagination)
-All horror movies (especially IT)
-The movie ET
-The Labrinth
-The Wizard of OZ
-Return to OZ (that lady changing head was just plain sick)
-After Chucky, I was afraid of this doll I had so I destroyed it and threw it away

I was pretty much a little wimp....I'm sure I will think of other things later...

Return to Oz

I loved this movie as a kid, but it was pretty scary too. The institution where they took Dorothy was crazy... and the wheelers, and Ozma were all creepy.

The Adventures of Mark Twain (claymation)

I don't remember anything about this movie other than the part with Satan, that part really scared me as a kid

Dot and the Kangaroo

Actually I don't know if it was from this movie, or one of the other dot movies.. but there were a few segments in them that were really scary. The music in it was scary too.

Oh man, I forgot about that one. It was only last year that I actually conquered my fear of the high dive and went off 8 times. I'm never doin' that again.
