Gremlins (thanks to the commercials with the fraking thing popping out of the television set!) I have yet to see either
of the movies, but now as an adult, they sound like something
I would like.
I remember this episode of Mighty Mouse that terrified me for some reason when I was, like, three. Something about some kid turning into a mutated mouse. I guess he was scary looking.
Bugs. I have forever blamed my older brother for moving lint around in his hand when I was a child, leaving me with a huge phobia. Not crippiling, but scary enough. I am doing better since going vegetarian and realizing that a spider is alive just like me, but if there is something crawling on my ceiling, sometimes I will just go sleep on the couch. And I'm over 20.
Hexus in Ferngully terrified me in the theater. Wow. (Still kind of scary, but not as scary as the first viewing. I remember when my parents bought me the movie I would not even watch it with them!)Turning into a skeleton? Yeah, that's something for kids!
Manta from The Little Mermaid TV show scared the living daylights out of me too. Now I'm like "I was scared of HIM?" I guess it was the way he moved and how scare he sounded. Thanks Tim Curry!
Oh, and the imagination eater weirded me out too. I guess I had
a few of weird looking inhuman creatures as a child.
Worf on ST:TNG. Oh wow. I don't know how, but somehow this man was scary as mess. Then there was that one episode where that alien popped out of some guys chest as Starfleet Academy. I saw it again as an adult and I could see why that scared me as a child.
It's kind of stupid, but in the dubbed version of the Digimon movie where the monster digimon says "Go back...go back to the beginning" continues to creep me out even now! It's the sound of its voice. Too scary!!
I don't remember the name of the movie or anything, but there was something on the sci-fi channel when I was a kid where these
furry things were rolling together in someone's front yard.
That was very scary for me.
The movie Arachnophobia. I remember they played a commercial for it on tv when I was young and it just weirded me out. Especially the part with a guy spitting on/out (IDK) a spider. EWW! If I couldn't sit through Eight-Legged Freaks as a teenager, I don't think I could sit through this as an adult.
So, I was a whimp and in a lot of ways I still am.
I also have a life long fear of heights.
