Best beat-em up game of the 90's. It went downhill when Mortal Kombat 3 came out but its got better again.

I have Mortal Komabt Deadly alliance and Deception which is cool. The death traps are awsome but the only thing Deception lacks is you can't play as most of the best characters. You can play as forgootern characters such as Tanya (I would't have gusessed she'd be back), Sindel and Kabal , the list goes on.

      FINISH HIM!!!
      FATALITY
      FLAWLESS VICTORY

Common' every one remmenber and love those lines in the game...
Have everyone ever wonder why, there are ratings for videogames?
MORTAL KOMBAT is the reason WHY

      A trivia question?
DO YOU KNOW THAT MORTAL KOMBAT WAS ORIGINALLY A VIDEOGAME FOR JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME "BLOODSPORT" MOVIE.
WHEN VAN-DAMME TURN DOWN THE PROYECT, IT BECAME GOOD OL' MORTAL KOMBAT, WITH vAN-DAMME REPLACED BY JOHNNY CAGE.

The best Mortal Kombat had to be Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Playstation. It had every single charcter.

Mortal Kombat Gold for Dreamcast was fun, but all in all, I like every Mortal Kombat game. :D

The movies sucked, they were okay when I was younger, but now they are just stupid. They need to make a MK movie that is truer to the game and has more of a story. :)

Lol, just how exactly do you pull that off? It needs to be truer to the game, which is all about contant combat and killing with 2 minutes of story at the end (which often conflicts with other character endings), and yet you want a movie with more story. How do you do that again, exactly? :P

I was just saying, in order to pull a decent Mortal Kombat movie off, it needs to be truer to the game; which like your saying is damn near impossible, but it could be done, maybe........ :? The newer MK games that have come out recently do have a good story to them that can now allow someone to make a decent film. I know the films were based off of what games existed back then, but thats just another thing, video games from back then should have stayed video games. Cartoons are acceptable, but live action movies of them just sucked.

Remember Mario Bros. the movie? That pissed me off, a fun movie, but damn! Now that video games have more of a story it's more possible to pull off the transformation from console/cartridge/CD to big screen/big hit movie.

I'll just shut up now because this whole rant was just to save me from looking like a dumbass but I guess it's not working :o
*pounds fist to forehead* "Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stu....."

Great game, one awesome movie, and a crappy sequel
                      good times, good times.

Yeah, I couldn't see Frog Bog or Happy Trails transforming nicely into a blockbuster film...

i always wanted the creators of mortal kombat to mix a game
for example like marvel vs capcom
but like mortal kombat vs streetfighter
like scorpoin, sub zero, rain, and smoke vs ryu, ken, dan, and akuma that would be one fucking crazy fight but still we all know who would win that one

That just dumb. One game kills the other doesn't. ryu isn't going to haduken a person's head off and gulie isn't going to sonic boom a person's torso apart.

that would be cool to see chun li do her helicopter kick thing and random body parts fly off. if they were going to do that im sure they would just give them thier own new fatalities

No, that would be betraying the tradition of one of the titles involved. Thats like saying "Hey, wouldn't it be sweet if the did MK vs. Capcom, and there wasn't any blood or fatalities! Yeah!"

No, that would suck, because MK is about the blood. Street Fighter is more about the fight itself, and has nothing to do with ripping your opponent apart.

First Mortal Komabt film was awasome. Annihilation gets my vote as one of the worst films ever. Her's my list of what went wrong.

                                      1) Best characters not getting enough screen time: Johnny Cage first thig he does is die. Sub Zero is the most popular Mortal Kombat character he only gets five minutes and another popular character is Scorpion. He has a fight with Sub Zero for five minutes, Kidnapps Kitina and after that where is he?

                                      2) Lame fights

                                      3) This film just tried to cram every single MK character. The worst a character got was being mentioned but didn't appear. Why one or two characters (baraka was one of them) did appear but their names wasn't mentioned

                                      4) The world was in danger what does Raiden do? Absolutly nothing. He doesn't seem to care. He was great in the first movie and if he's Sho kahn's brother what does that make Shao Kahn? A god (now I mention he should have kicked Liu Kang's ass if he was a god). And don't get me started on Raiden turning into a mortal. Only a god without Brains would do that.

Clearly the best fighting game series ever created.
