What were your favorite snacks to pack in your lunch for school? I liked Gusher Fruit Snacks, those rows of SweetSpot cookies, any Little Debbies, and Ssips drink boxes.

My sister and I didn't get that junk. My parents always just fed me two sandwiches and drink two pints of milk, which was way good already.

I do remember, however, that fruit roll-ups or a bag of ruffles were the standard for most of us kids, as well as fruit snack type things of all shapes.

You could once buy small individual portions of Nutella (choc spread) that came with a spoon - my mum use to give us these in our lunchboxes......very healthy

My favourite lunchbox snack was the ubiquitous choc chip muesli bar, but it had to be the Uncle Toby's brand. Jadedoz will know what I'm talking about.

I also liked Le Snak, another Uncle Toby's product, which was like a savoury version of Dunkaroos. You got a couple of crackers with some cheese dip.

Probably the snack I got most often were those mini bags of potato chips that come in big bags of 30. It's good to be a kid and able to eat all that crap without health repercussions... :D

On a related note, somewhere around the second or third grade I developed an intense aversion to bread, so I used to just throw my sandwiches in the trash at school until my mum found out and and tried to get me eating other stuff, like pitta bread and foccaccia and such. I have no idea why I suddenly turned off bread, and it's only recently that I've been able to eat it again (although it has to be same-day-fresh, and chilled in the fridge). Weird, huh?

Oh hell yeah, crazyhippie, those little tubs of Nutella were awesome. So cute, with their little foil lid that you peel off to reveal the sweet, hazelnut-chocolatey goodness inside. And those spoons were more like spatulas. When you reached the bottom and the plastic spatula scraped against the plastic tub, it was an awful feeling, like scrubbing metal dishes with a steel-wool brush, or scraping your fingernails on a blackboard. Just something about the plastic, I guess.

I think eating Nutella has had detrimental effects on me...... I now eye up the normal sized jars wondering if it is acceptable to buy it and eat it with a spoon......

              yeah they were spatulas

My mum also use to buy Milo, which none of us kids could be bothered to make into drinks so we just (and still do) use to have spoonfuls of the stuff. its a bit like eating chocolate gravel - soooo dry it makes you fall over in a coughing fit, but still scrummy....

There is also a cheap brand of crisps that evryone at my secondary school use to buy with their lunch money - Space Raiders/Invaders??? - a bit like monster munch, but they only cost 10p!!!

It's perfectly acceptable to dig in to a jar of Nutella with a spoon. A jar of Snickers or Milky Way spread goes down nicely that way too. I could not imagine eating them on bread or toast anyway. Chocolate on a sandwich? No thanks.

As for Milo, there is little in the way of treats better than Milo on vanilla ice cream. It is truly the food of the gods.

my mom never bought us dunkaroos or fruit-by-the-foot kind of stuff... they weren't ''good'' for you.. psh. but then there were the kids that gave you them for free, such a treat. that was basically the only time i got to eat those kind of snacks. i think kids even traded junk food with me for my apples.. crazy eh?

the only way to eat fruit-by-the-foot: wrap the tip around your thumb and then slowly unroll the whole snack, wrapping it around your thumb. until you have one big ass thumb. and the only way to eat it was to suck on it till it was gone. though side affects included having a nice sticky red thumb for the rest of the day.. it was so delicious.

All of that crap was good, but out of all the different snacks and other junk, I knew it was going to be a good day at school when I got a Lunchable. But out of everything, I loved having a normal cold lunch and my favorite drink in the whole world were Squeeze It's!

Squeeeeeeeeeze the fun out of em'!! Gotta love it :D

Yeah! I loved it when ever I got lunchables! As for my fav snack it would have to be a bag of Doritos.

I always had Kraft cheese n' crackers and a mini bag of nacho cheese chips or cheetos and "Little Debbie" cakes.

I was usually denied a treat when I was a kid growing up because it was “unhealthy”. I would take the generic sandwich, juicy juice (which wasn’t nice and cold by lunch time), a bag of lays chips (usually in very tiny crumbs by lunch time), and a nice piece of fruit. Sometimes I got lucky, and my uncle would send me with a Twinkie or Sunkist fruit snacks. The best was in high school. I still took my lunch, because it was cheaper that way, and I would pack in leftovers from the previous night’s dinner. “Oh you’re having a hamburger? I’m having steak and potatoes punk!”

This was my standard for years
                                      A sandwich
                                      Fruit snacks
                                      Chips
                                      A drink

I use to take a lot of unhealthy food for years. I remember this one time this boy in my class opened my lunch and sold my squeeze-it to another kid in my class for $.10. So the teacher had to give me money for milk and tell my mom what happened.

Then when I went to 3rd grade and moved to another school. The coolest thing to eat was healthy food. Wheat bread, 100% juice and fruit. Instead of Squeeze-its and doughnuts.

Yes daniel85, I do remember having Uncle Toby's choc chip muesli bars when I was in infance, but when I went into primary I remember having Wraps muesli bars which were completely covered in chocolate and had a minty taste. Also having vitabrits and sao's with vegemite.
I have very vague memories of occasionally having chocolate coated marshmellow, that was the shape of a fish.
