This game was one of the reasons I wanted to get my arcade emulator. I used to play it at the skating rink in the 80's (along with Rolling Thunder and Time Pilot)..

I am pretty sure that it was Sega's answer to Nintendo's Donkey Kong.

I also remember watching people occasionally play it on the video game show Starrcade.
    Ker click... Choom..

This game is awesome. I used to play it ALL THE TIME on my Atari 5200. I remember playing it at Pizza Hut as well on the cocktail cabinet.

Judging by how red the gorilla's nose is
I would say he's a bit of an alcoholic

The only game I remember playing at the skating rink was Elevator Action. I do remember my grocery store had Crazy Climber.

                    Bishop's referring to Starcade http://www.jmpc.com/Starcade/starframe.htm

                    I loved that show.

As far as Congo Bongo, I don't remember playing that one much (though it is a pretty cool game).

there was a game that came out when I was young called bongo congo. it wasn't a videogame though it was sorta like hungry hungry hippos in a way(not exactly). it had a big ape in the middle swinging a club and the players played as the monkeys trying to get these balls that were in a backpack on the ape's back. I wonder if the characters in this game were related to the videogame.
