maybe, but I can get almost any cartridge game to work doing it. If you think the game doesn';t work, some people are so weird and just throw the game out. My friend had a game that he could never get to work, I blew in it and then it worked after months of not working...
That works because the moiseture in your breath temporarily makes the oxidized copper pins more conductive. Unfortunately, that moisture is also what will eventually destroy those same pins. It's like rust. The effects of cleaning with a cotton swab and alcohol (or yes, a pencil eraser) will keep the game working longer than blowing in it will because it actually removes the oxidation. A passable solution that destroys games is no substitute for a very good solution that doesn't.

isn't there a warning on the back of NES cards which say not to use alcohol ?
That's because they wanted you to use their official cleaning kit, which they no longer sell and which includes--guess what--cleaning swabs and a tiny bottle of isopropyl alcohol. 8)

You can get most NES games now a days for only a few dollars. If it takes years for the game to be destroyed, its not going to make much of a difference i'd think. I would not be blowing into rare games most likely though, I dont really own any.
I now hold the world records for Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2! :)

Someday they're all going to be rare. Think of future generations of retro gamers.

its funny that an act like blowing into cartridges can be pop culture. I know I saw one Internet production logo had a blinking sceen, the blowing sound and then the movie would start.

Oh my god, that is so awesome. I wish I'd though of it.
