Thes games have been around since the late 70's. They either had a backround, or no backround at all on the screen.

I had many sorts of these handheld games in my life-time. The most noticable of this type was the last I ever bought. It was a Star Trek game I bought in the late 90's. The handheld was in the shape of a the latest combadge insiginia at the time. Pretty much you play as the Enterprise E.
The bases of the game is that you have to shoot phaser fire at a vast ammount of Borg ships. There's no such shields to protect the Enterprise so colliding into a Borg ship about 3 times means game over.
I hadn't ever beaten the game so I never heared the victory beeps.xD
    Reminiscing hurts my brain.

I still have a few of these that Tiger Electronics made in the late '80s. Crappy renditions of Castlevania II, Marble Madness, and Karate Champ.

I hated thoes games, they had horrible controls and it was hard to see the game if any bright light hit it

                lets see what I have...

I have 1 Tiger handheld (Sonic the hedgehog) , a "Parachute" Game & Watch, and I think somewhere, I may have 2 mini classics:

Donkey kong jr and Super Mario Bros

I might also have an electronic pinball game.

I also have DK Jr.(I'm not sure where it is at the moment) and a Blackjack one, and a Discovery Channel one, and a 20 Q one. Some of those are actually worth playing, the 20 Q, Super Mario Bros, DK Jr and Slingo are good, the rest suck.
