    My super nintendo has the ac adapter socket missing so i cant play it any more I was just wondering is there any substitutions for an ac adapter that i could use.

        the socket for the acadapter is gone theres just a peice of metal sticking out connecting to the supernintendo

          Do you mean the jacket came off of the plug? The socket is the part that's sunken into the SNES, where you insert the plug. The plug is the bit at the end of the cord that goes into the console. The jacket is the bit of gray rubbery stuff that protects the outside of the plug.

          If that's all that's wrong, you could just wrap the exposed part of the plug in electrical tape and that should take care of it.

            no i actually mean the socket that you put the plug in to on the snes is ripped off and theres only a piece of metal sticking out of the snes i dont know how it happened

              Jeebus! In that case, if you don't already know how to solder a replacement socket in there, I wouldn't suggest trying to fix it. If you know that kind of stuff, it's a simple matter of buying a new socket from an electronics supplier and soldering it to the contacts on the board, after desoldering what's left of the old one. If you can't find one that the original SNES adaptor fits into, you can buy a universal AC adaptor that matches the SNES's power requirements and use that instead.
